    I am a 70 year old patient with health issues. I've been going to MedStar Takoma for various procedures since 11-7-18. On 3-31-19, I chose option 2 to settle balance in several installments of $100 a month (* ******, Account Manager). Attached are 2 ***** spreadsheets of payments I've made (1 page listed payments made to ******* ********* & MedStar = $3,636.04, 2-page payments to Receivables Outsourcing for Medstar Physicians = $1,189.36). Both totaled to $4,825.40 payments I have made. Starting on 6-21-23, staffs (********, **** & ********) of the business have repeatedly called & left messages that I have outstanding balance of +/1 $1,100. On several occasions that I spoke w/********, I was harassed and threatened if I do not pay 50% of the outstanding balance, my 6/29/23 procedure with Dr. ******** will be canceled. No letter nor explanation of the alleged outstanding balance was provided. Their actions have caused me undue hardship and stress, and disruptions to my job as well. Currently, Dr. ****** ******** provides me pain management. Despite many requests over periods of time to the business to explain details of charges, how my payments were applied & balance due, I did not receive a response. The staff's harassing & threatening phone calls is elder abuse and violates The Elder Abuse Act.
