My credit of $6294 has not been returned per the contract credit.I will be reporting KP Contracting to the Maryland *************************** and the Maryland Attorney General. It took KP Contracting 5 months to start a project that I was told would take 60 days from the time I signed the contract, which was October 2023. The project was severely overpriced, the timelines were misrepresented, and the customer service lacked transparency and integrity. After several occasions which lacked transparency and integrity on the part of KP Contracting, I informed them on May 8th, 2024, to not return to my home for any further work, which was average work at best.

We built a gorgeous, well-constructed large pavilion and hardscape. We went over and above for this customer. It was a very difficult permit to get approved and we fought tooth and nail with the county and got it approved. Once construction began, our project managers endured regular verbal abuse and our salesperson received numerous angry, unjustified shouting phone calls demanding cost reductions for permitting delays well out of our control. It was clear to our entire crew that the goal was to intimidate and exaggerate his way to a discount. The construction was completed in 38 days. We have online daily logs and pics if you wish to see the speed and quality of the construction. The day before principal completion of the project, we approached the customer with a Stop Work because he was unwilling to make a contractual progress payment. We knew if we finished the next day that we would never see our money. The customer was forced to confess that he did not have the funds and was unable to pay the progress payment or final bill. He asked for 30 days. We worked with him and accepted two post-dated checks and completed the hardscapes the following day. The first check cleared, and the customer placed a stop payment on the second. We can provide a copy of the bad check on request.2.5 months into the contract, the customer cancelled 40% of the effort. The contract states that the customer is responsible for costs that have already been incurred for cancelled effort. The customer was provided with a full summary of the $6,294 worth of expenses that we had incurred. The customer agreed and signed Change Order ***** agreeing to be responsible for the $6,294. However, we added a provision that the customer could receive a $6,294 credit for any future projects that are like kind. However, once the customer found himself in financial trouble, he attempted to apply the credit to the existing contract and not a Future contract as the Change Order reads. A copy of all contracts and change orders can be provided to anyone on request. We have signed contracts, signed change orders, copy of the bad check and online daily logs to support this reply. All is available to anyone on request.
