I contacted ***************** about a pending debt that I wanted to verify and they told me I would have to pay a large amount of money within 4 months or they would send the debt to a collection agency. They did not give me a detailed report of the debt. I called again and ***************** told me that they sent the debt to Jack Harris Inc. When I contacted Jack Harris Inc. the people I spoke to where very rude and immediately threatened that if i didn't pay they would move forward with having my pay garnished. I asked them to send me a letter verifying the debt and they said they already did which was a lie. I verified my address and they said they had it correct yet they sent a letter to my friends house which they obviously thought was my jobs address because they addressed the letter in C/O my employer. I asked my friend to open the letter and she screen shot the letter and showed it to me. It had a red stamp on the envelope that read PERSONAL EMPLOYEE but the letter was addressed to my employer. I wanted to make payment arrangements after the debt was verified but I could not get anyone from this business to work with me without threatening me. I want them to send a debt verification letter to my home address and not my friends and family homes or my workplace when I'm obviously not running from them but refuse to be treated like I'm less than human. i will be mailing out a letter to request verification of the debt vie certified mail and email.

On Thursday, July 27, 2023 at approximately 1:23 pm a young lady who identified herself as ***************** called me in regards to a collection from ****** ********** Apartments. I informed the young lady that I submitted a 60 day notice of intent to vacate property to ****** ********** Apartments through the resident portal as instructed by the resident manager when I spoke with them prior to moving to determine what procedure I needed to follow. After submitting the notice, I was told that I still owed rent for 2 months after vacating the apartment since ****** ********** Apartments could not guarantee that they could find occupants for the apartment that I was moving out of. I have spoken with the resident manager on several occasions prior to moving and this was never stated to me. After moving out, I spoke with the resident manager again and the statement in regards to moving out changed. The young lady from Jack Harris stated that I still owed $4200 to ****** ********** Apartments, but the apartment complex would settle for $3475. She also stated that I needed to give the apartment complex a 60 day notice, which I did through the portal. ****** ********** Apartments did not accurately submit the details of my account to the collection agency. I followed the instructions that I received from ****** ********** Apartments resident manager.
