My gutter became partially detached. This was a lower gutter maybe 8 ft above the ground. MARS wanted 3,000 to fix it. My other estimates were 500.00 and 1,100.00. Prime example of trying to take advantage of people. Highway robbery.

I contracted Mars restoration to do my roof and was very satisfied with the results of their work, until I was contacted with a notice stating that I owed $300 additionally for replacing the boards. Written in the contract was that for every board used beyond the amount of 2, I would be charged $75 each. Upon completion of the job, they informed me that they had used 4 additional boards beyond the 2, adding to a total of 6. Therefore, meaning I owed 75x4 or $300. That would have been no problem if not for the fact that upon my own inspection of the boards through my attic, I found that they had only truly used 2 additional boards. The real kicker is that they cut each of the additional boards in half to give the façade that 4 whole boards were used. After discovering what I saw in the attic, I reached out to them and explained what I had saw. Once I was finally able to get in touch with the representative, I was met with great hostility and ignorance. Now after being practically ignored, they have sent me an email stating that if I do not pay the full remaining balance my roof warranty will be voided on the 19th of this month.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I just looked through your pictures of your roof installation and I can see where you did have 6 pieces of wood replace. It might be difficult to see several of the pieces from looking inside the attic as they are on the edge of the roof along the gutter line. Insulation in many homes attics near the eaves can block the view of these pieces of wood. It does look like several pieces were cut, one of them was cut to fit at the end of your roof where it buts to your neighbor and it looks like the other was cut to go around a furnace vent. Neither of the scrap from the cuts were installed on your home or installed on anyone else home, it was scrap and was thrown away. We have to charge by the piece and not by the square foot this is spelled out in your roofing addendum where we discuss wood replacement by the piece rather than the square foot. I can assure you that we are not trying to charge you for anything we did not do, only for work we completed. I am going to email, the email I have on file for you, a gallery of pictures showing the wood that was replaced. Thank you again for your feedback and I hope this helps to clarify any invoicing discrepancy.
