On January 12, 2025 I was visiting a friend overnight at the *********************** complex in **************, **. I was parked in a spot outside the complex. The apartment only has outdoor parking spaces available and does not have permit, assigned, or visitor parking, and does not offer parking passes. My vehicle was towed by JNJ Towing and Recovery company sometime between 10pm-9am without any notice of potential towing. My vehicle has expired tags that I am in the process of updating. I recently purchased my vehicle and it required some work prior to being inspected to receive updated tags. My understanding of Maryland law is that a vehicle cannot be towed for solely having expired tags. I was not committing any parking or driving violations or obstructions. I was charged $350 (which seems excessive or an overcharge for same day pickup) for the towing by *** and had to wait 2 hours in the cold for someone to arrive to their lot location in ***********, **. There were no visible signs of the potential of towing or parking violations marked at the apartment complex. I requested a copy of the complexs parking policy and was told by the apartment that they did not have a copy of the new parking policy due to a new towing company. *** declined to provide me with a parking/towing policy and would not give me any paperwork (release form, receipt, documentation) after releasing my vehicle. I was told I could only pay by cash or zelle. After this ordeal, my friend that resides at ************* mentioned that approximately a month ago her vehicle was almost towed by the same company. When she confronted the driver to ask why her vehicle was being towed, the tow driver said if you give me your number I wont tow you.Initial Complaint

My vehicle was towed from my residence. I'm being charged for 2 days impound. It's been less than 24hours, I've been calling for overw hours and no one has answered the phone. My husband came home this morning (June 5,2024) to our car missing from its parking spot, we live in a townhouse with assigned parking. After calling the non emergency number we found out it was towed by this company. We did not receive warning or any indication that our car was in any violation. Everything is up to date, we were in our spot and parked correctly. Weve been trying to contact them to get our car and their number is disconnected and the address listed on the website is not associated with this company. In fact they have a sign up specifically saying they are not a towing company. We cant contact them or locate the business therefore we cant retrieve our car.Initial Complaint

This company came and towed my vehicle that has been parked with a parking sticker. They have been doing illegal towing in low income neighborhoods in this county. Someone needs to get them out of businessInitial Complaint

I was towed Tuesday, January 2nd 2024. It was because my tags were expired and I was given no notice. When I called to get my car, the man was extremely rude over the phone and told me I had to have 310 dollars and my license in order to get my car back. Never told me what I had to do in order to set up an appointment to grab my car. Its listed as a 24 hour service but had me wait from 2pm-8pm to grab my car. They said to show up at 7pm which I did and they were still 40 minutes late. When I showed up to grab my car the man just rushed out of the parking lot before I could grab my vehicle and told me he would not give it back if I didn’t “behave”and he would not come back till I said I was going to call the cops. They also don’t answer their calls and have no way to leave a voicemail. When I went to get my car the man got very close to me and would not leave me alone(harassment). Car was towed, while I was at the Christmas party. Mistakenly parked somewhere I was not suppose to. I called and was told I needed cash to get the car out. The person let me get my purse out and my friend drove me all the way to **** for the atm. On 10/05/2023 at approximately 4:30am, I noticed that my car was not in my parking spot of my residential buildings. My car is a white **** ******. I immediately called the Towing company JnJ which which was the only company authorized to provide services in my residential buildings. No one picked up my calls. I called back later and they told me that they have my car and I must bring $310 to picked up my car. However, the company's sign posted in my residential buildings clearly state that the fees is $250 and daily $30 storage fees if the car wasn't picked up. When I went to picked up my car the same today around 5:30pm, nobody was at the location of me to pick up my car. I called back again and was told to come back at 8:pm. I left and come back at 8:pm, and still nobody at the location to give me my car back. I called again and I was told that someone would be there in 20 minutes. As the time I'm filling this complaint, it's 9:40pm and nobody is here. According to the Maryland laws regarding Towing, the company is required to be opened 24/7 for customers to picked up there cars when the car is tow.Initial Complaint

I have a complaint about this company. I have requested a receipt from them at two different transactions and not received one yet. I have been towed twice by them at $280 both times. Gave the guy cash both times, because that is the only way to get to your car. I do have a witness that I was there and have pictures of my car in the tow yard. My car was towed from my apartments parking lot due to missing a parking pass. Company website and Maryland state law says that my car is available for recovery 24/7, but they're not answering the phone number listed for recoveries. They towed our car at 10:56 pm and charged a extra day after 12am…they told me that’s a complete bussiness day for them.. We also called to get the car the night but no answer or reply til 8 am … they don’t have a office or dispatcher where you can retrieve your car or pay… every sign from their company says 24/7 towing and retrieving and it’s not truth they won’t answer your phone throughout the night and will call you back after 8 am with a extra day charged….guy told me from 10 pm to 12 am is a complete day! He also said he didn’t feel comfortable realizing the car to me because I wasn’t the registered owner but he refused to talk to the registered owner and call the cops and said I can’t give you the car now because the police are involved .. mind you this is 3 days after the towed 2 days of missed work and after sitting in a shady alley for two hours with a toddler while the driving proceeds to say he will be 30 mins multple times!! Theirs is a lot more to this story so much I’m drawing blanks and was just happy to finally be able to get the car but somthing has to be done about this company!!! It’s a private company so he basically tells me he can do watever he wants! False advertising because your not 24/7 and will charge for not being able to get the car cause they are closed until 8am, drivers and owner is rude, disrespectful and try to over power people because they are big, no office space or dispatch office just a alley with a lot… nobody you can talk to nowhere you can walk into and pay for your car or wait for someone to come assist you, only cash or no car, electronic sig with no receipt! just a all around **** show! Absouletly nothing good about this bussiness at alll I wouldn’t even call them to tow me if I was out stranded on my last limb.. they are that bad!!!
