We were in a vehicle accident Aug 11, 2023. We had the vehicle towed to Gregs Automotive for repairs. The work that Gregs did was not acceptable. It looks really bad. More important there is many parts that he was paid for that he did not replace. I feel that we should be refunded on all those parts. Greg seems to think he gets to keep the money. PARTS THAT WERE NOT REPLACED -FRONT IMPACT BAR $329.00 -RADIATOR SUPPORT $130.00 - HOOD (HE WAS PAID FOR 2 HOODS AND DIDNT REPLACE THE HOOD - $1465.00 -HOOD LATCH $105.00 -FENDER LINER $100.00 -FENDER FLARE $210.00 -GRILL SHEILD- 78.00 WAS PAID FOR A NEW HEADLIGHT AND REPLACED WITH A USED IM OK WITH THAT PART. HE WAS PAID 1380.00 AND I GOT THE HEADLIGHT FOR 550.00 i THINK $450.00 TO US WOULD BE FAIR. LOOKING FOR $250.00 IN LABOR OF THINGS HE DID NOT TAKE APART AND NOW HAVE OVERSPRAY ON THEM.Business Response

to me
Good Morning here is the response to case number **************
Greg's automotive and collision response to a Mr. **** ****** request for a refund 2019 dodge Durango was towed to my shop on 8/24/23 at his request the accident happened in Ocean City Maryland on 8/12. He had the shop in ocean city write an estimate for roughly $18,000. They couldnt start the job for 10 weeks he then decides to have it towed to my shop. ***** **** assigned an adjuster **** ********* come inspect Mr. ******** 2019 Durango however ****’s estimate wasn’t close to the first estimate. **** had asked me to find additional damage that could possibly total the vehicle, I refused to make up things that were not wrong with the vehicle just so it would be totaled. It was in the adjusters hands at this point. Mr. ****** stated that he wanted the knee assembly for the left front. **** was not going to write an estimate for that until the alignment was complete because you can not tell if there is any suspension that was bent, until then Mr. ****** was not happy with that answer on 9/5 an estimate was sent to me for $12,071.28. **** reached out to me on the phone asking me how much money he was going to get back from the insurance check my response was, I am not going to commit insurance fraud, and I would do the job for what the insurance check was for. He told me he would think about it and get back to me he then proceeded to say that a mutual friend of ours both make money on accidents and insurance checks which I had no clue what he was talking about I then reached out to the mutual friend to see what he was talking about and he advised me not to do the repairs for Mr. ****** I then asked **** to take it to another shop. If the job has already started like this, I didn’t want to be involved. I had already paid $700 for the Tow bill and did not charge him the $250 deductible which is a total of 950.00 but then later on 9/5/23 he agreed for me to do the repairs on the vehicle for what the estimate was written for I then began the tear down of the vehicle and ordered all of the parts which some were on back order. I had to locate a used rack which I contacted **** (the insurance adjuster) and he was fine with me using used parts because of the back order to keep the job moving a used headlamp that came in the wrong color silver, not black, which was correct Mr ****** took it upon his self to locate a used headlamp and fog lamp which was $700 which I reimbursed for the headlight and the fog lamp he had gotten was broken. He wanted to make money instead of using a new headlamp I have photos which I had to repair which had the new headlight and fog lamp ordered, which could’ve taken from three weeks to six months to get So repaired the hood which **** from ***** **** was fine with to take the money from the new hood, an impact bar and hood latch. Do not write the supplement which is fine for the grill. The OEM liner the difference on the the alignment. The fog lamp difference my policy at my shop is not to allow customers to buy or bring used parts for me to install , I worked very hard and taking care of Mr. ****** and worked on Saturdays and completed vehicle on Sunday. Mr. ****** is unable to read the estimate correctly on the door which had repair time and paint and refinished time to trim the door which Mr. ****** was concerned about the door handle and the mirror paid 1.2 hours which comes to a total of $70 that is not including the paint time or the repair time bracket was replaced for 129 I was not aware of ***** **** paying for two hoods so I reached out to **** from ***** **** which use hood for 971 he advised me to take the money from the new hood, put it towards not writing the supplement and repairing the hood which **** from ***** **** is fine with. He advised me to reach out to the claims department which I did and they was expecting to be reimbursed for the 971 for the used hood that was on the estimate which I did not have a problem with reimbursing. ***** **** reached out to **** to try to make the vehicle right he was unsatisfied with the overspray that was on the headlight, the light spot painted at the bottom of his bumper , **** advise me that he was not bringing the vehicle back to my shop to have me corrective repairs which ***** **** told him to bring it back to the shop and allow me to correct what he was not satisfied with once again everything that was done to Mr. ********. Durango was done to the insurance company and was done to complete satisfaction which I have done work with ***** **** and many other insurance companies over the years of being in business. It’s just unfortunate that me and Mr. ****** could not agree on a job that he feels as if he should be making the money on the vehicle as if he tried to tell me before what my hourly rates were what days I work, if you require me to send all receipts and recorded phone calls which I do have all the documents for everything that Mr. ****** has complained about Mr. ****** isn’t aware that any extra money that was allowed on the job would either be paid back to the insurance company not in his pocket or my pocket and that’s where the 971 is that is what’s left out of the job which I believe to go back to ***** ****
Thank you

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
The response that Greg has made is extremely false. I don’t feel the need to respond to all of his bogus allegations. It is very simple. ***** **** wrote me a check. I then paid Greg’s automotive out of my bank account for what was supposed to be all the repairs on the estimate Greg’s automotive did not make all the repairs on the estimate ***** **** has told me they are out of this because They paid me and I paid him separately. I paid him to put all of the parts on that I listed previously, and those parts were not changed. Therefore, I should be refunded for those parts and the labor that he did not complete the easiest way that I can break it down is if you take your vehicle to a shop and they tell you it’s $800 to replace all the brakes and you pay them upfront but they only replace the front brakes. Do they get to keep the money for all the brakes? No, the customer is entitled to that money back , Greg automotive chose not to complete all the work the only money that I am asking for is for the parts and the little bit of labor that was not completed. The job turned out terrible the car looks very bad and will need to go to another shop to be repaired correctly, I am not even asking for that money at this time. We are in the process of having the paperwork drawn up for small claims court but if we can agree here on this, we won’t have to follow through with the legal hearings. Attached will be the text messages proving that I did not ask him to commit fraud. And that we wanted our vehicle done the correct way, and that’s what we were worried about. I will also provide the original estimate that the vehicle was towed to in Ocean City. But that estimate doesn’t have anything really a value for what we’re asking for. But that just shows what our concern Was because their estimate was 18,000 and Greg was 12,000. But like I stated that really has no concern with what we’re asking for. I’m not asking for all the money back I’m asking for the money for the parts that he didn’t replace.
Sincerely,
