    During the first week of April 2025, I contacted Hodges to schedule an appointment for an estimate on the cost to repair window screens. At no point during this initial scheduling was I informed that a service fee would be charged for the estimate. If I had been made aware of such a charge, I would not have moved forward with the appointment, as I do not conduct business with companies that charge for estimates.On April 7th, a technician visited my home and measured the identified windows. I subsequently received a call from *****, who provided the estimate for the work. I informed her that I would be obtaining additional quotes and would contact her by Monday with a decision. It was only at that point that I was informed a $146 service fee would apply if I chose not to proceed with Hodges. When I mentioned I had not been made aware of this policy earlier, ***** responded by stating, I see we informed you of this, which was not accurate in my experience.I called again on Monday to revise the work I wanted completed and was told that Jasmine would follow up. On Wednesday, April 16th, Jasmine called, and I informed her I would like to have 4 screens repaired. She stated I would have to bring the screens to the office myself. She advised me that I would still be responsible for the service fee, despite my intent to proceed with the repair. I explained that it had originally been stated the service fee would only apply if I did not use Hodges for the work. She responded by saying, They came out there and didnt do anything, so there will be a service charge.I respectfully request a refund of the $146 service fee, as the terms and conditions around this charge were not clearly communicated, and the handling of this matter has caused confusion and frustration.Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt resolution of this matter.

    I wanted to share a quick update.  The owner of the company reached out to me personally and was very accommodating, friendly and professional.  I'm happy to report that the company has agreed to issue a refund, and I can confirm the money has been returned.  I'm pleased with how everything was handled and satisfied with the outcome of this complaint.
