They spilt oil when removing old furnace and did not notify me of spill. I was outside with my toddler, and when I went in the house to check on my 5 month old who was napping, the smell of oil was really strong through the main level. They should have notified me immediately. Stayed outside the rest of the day in the heat. It still smelled of oil at kids bedtime 830 at night. Smell is still coming from large vent in living room this morning. Honest air promised to give us 5 year free maintenance service for filter changes etc. Today they are saying they might be able to next week. When I complained of the fumes and staying outdoors all day with 5 month old and 2 year old, **** told me this happens every time they remove oil furnaces. And that another family was stuck in a fumigation house for several days.
Last but not least when I spoke with manager about having babies in the heat all day he proces

I have an Honest Air service plan, and had the HVAC unit serviced one month prior by them. This week during the heatwave I and had to call them at 7pm to fix a non-functioning dual capacitor on my air compressor (the fan unit outside the house). A dual capacitor costs between $14-25 on ****** or in **** *****.
They marked the item up a minimum of 980%
And that is with me assuming they replaced it with the most expensive one at $25. Plus a $160 service fee (despite their service plan).
If I took it at the average price on ****** at $17, it would be a 1451% markup! I have sent two requests for them to justify the HUGE MARKUP ON THE CAPACITOR, and they have ignored both.
That is clearly taking advantage of their customers.
I would understand a markup of maybe 100-150% but 1451% is just wrong and greedy.

Thank you for being a service contract customer and for taking the time to share your feedback. Were sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the cost of your recent after - hours service and would like to provide some clarity. Our pricing takes into account much more than just the cost of a part. When you call us at 7:00 PM during a heatwave, you're not just paying for a capacitoryoure paying for the convenience and reliability of having a trained technician answer the call, travel to your home, diagnose the issue, and complete the repair on the spot. That includes:After-hours availability: Our team is on-call nights, weekends, and holidays so customers arent left without ******** support staff who are available to coordinate urgent calls outside business ************ time, fuel, and vehicle wear and tear, especially during peak emergency times.Experienced, technicians who are trained to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently and safely. We understand sticker shock can happen, especially when comparing part-only costs online. But our pricing reflects the full value of the service provided not just the hardware, but the time, logistics, and professional expertise that go into every repair. We appreciate your business over the last two years and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further if youd like to give us a call. We always aim to deliver honest, reliable service and hope to continue earning your trust

The fact that I already paid $160 for the call-out speaks to the on-call after hours, and also that I have a plan with yourselves. Your answer about fuel, vehicle wear and tear etc is factored into that. You clearly charged a separate amount for the PART, AND THAT IS MY BONE OF CONTENTION. You took advantage, and your business cost should not be passed on at $1451% of the part that I received. I had also told you when I called that it was the capacitor that was at issue, so your trained technician just confirmed it on arrival.

Honest Air technician came to our home to diagnose our HVCA not defrosting. We were told by the first technician we needed a Condenser Defrost Board & Sensor Replacement. We agreed to the work, and the technician returned to install the Defrost Board. The sensor had to be ordered, so it was not installed at the same time. He came back a few days later and installed the sensor. The morning after the sensor was installed, our unit did not defrost. We called, and they sent a different technician out to our home. This technician said we needed a new piston and coils. The manager called and said the coils were not at their "standard" and had to be replaced. Once again, we agreed to the work. After that technician installed the new piston and coils, the HVAC unit was still not defrosting. He returned and worked on the unit and told us it was fixed. We have no idea what was done, but we are happy he "fixed" it. We then got a call from the manager saying he spoke to the technician and how they take photos and time stamp their work. The photos from the first technician visit and this last visit show the wires were not matching and someone was "sabotaging" our unit. Basically, implying it was myself or my husband. And even though we were not charged, we will be in the future. The HVAC was not fixed, as it did not defrost. We called another company to look at the unit, and it was diagnosed that the sensor installed was terrible and put in the wrong place. This company documented everything and left us the sensor and instruction manual on where the sensor should have been and where it was installed. We called Honest Air, spoke to the manager about this situation, and wanted a refund. Not only did they not apologize, they did not take any accountability. He kept interrupting us and was very condescending. He said he would call us back and still has yet to. We spent thousands of dollars with this company only to have their work, diagnosis fail, and no apology.
