I made an appointment because I was experiencing teeth sensitivity and was told I needed a filing. I scheduled the appointment for the filling. Although, Metro Dental accepted my insurance, I was told I would have to pay out pocket and they would put in a claim for my insurance to reimburse me. So I paid half when I scheduled and the remainder the day of the appointment. After three months,I had not received a reimbursement for the filing procedure. I called the dentist office and asked to speak with the office manager. I was told he was busy a task would be put in for him to give me a call. I waited 1 week without a call from anyone. I called my insurance company and I was told that the dentist office indeed received my reimbursement and cashed the e-check. Additionally, my insurance informed me that the reimbursement was minimum because the dentist I say was out of network. However, my other 2 visit were covered. Now no one told me the dentist doing filing was out of network! I called the office a week later after not hearing from the office manager and I was told again that he was busy and was passed on to the treatment coordinator. He admitted they had indeed received my reimbursement but he never said when the money would be sent to me. It has been almost five months since the procedure and I haven’t spoken to anyone who can resolve the issue nor have I received my reimbursement. I was told that Metro Dental accepted my insurance and it was evident by the other two services I received. I would like to know why wasn’t I made aware that the Filing procedure or the dentist performing the procedure wasn’t in network? Because of the dentist being out of network, it resulted in the insurance company not paying the max for the procedure. Additionally, Metro Dental has received and cashed the reimbursement from my insurance company and since I paid up from for the procedure whatever amount was received should’ve been sent back to me. Why haven’t I received reimbursement?
