      On January 18, 2024, I purchased a 2008 Crownline 24 Boat from Mr. **** **** of Bay Performance Inc. and paid *********. Mr. **** installed a used sterndrive on the boat and told me that the unit was fine and that he looked it all over and there was nothing wrong with any of the work he had done to this boat. The boat was then winterized by him and placed in storage until April 29, 2024. Mr. **** removed the shrink-rapping, ran the engine, and serviced the water system. Additionally, Mr. **** stated that everything was in working order and that the boat was in good condition, and well maintained over the years. I moved the boat to my new ****** on the next day. After only 6 hours of operation on June 14th I noticed oil leaking from the sterndrive unit. Maintenance personnel from my ****** found that the sterndrive lower unit drive shafts were worn out and that whoever installed the sterndrive installed the propellers with a worn out retaining bolt. The parts and labor for the repairs was ********. I contacted Mr. **** and informed him that the sterndrive he installed was defective and worn out along with needing 2 driveshafts and he told me that he would not pay for anything that he could have fixed the sterndrive with used parts that he had. I ask for him to at least pay for the parts and he refused. After the repairs were completed the sterndrive operated normally however, shortly after that engine over heated and the maintenance personnel found that the sea pump bearings were disintegrated and they had to replace the sea pump housing, impeller and cover kit costing me ********. This shows that the boat was not well maintained. I have pictures of the damaged ***** drive shafts Mr. **** is a despicable and dishonest person, I should have never purchased a boat or anything else from this place.
