    My two children, ages 2 and 8, were enrolled at Sherrys Dance for approximately 6 months. During this time I noticed the studio is in violation of the MD State Fire Code. I contacted the studio and was ignored. I contacted the Fire Marshall’s office and asked that they investigate. I then receive a letter in the mail from an attorney demanding I “cease and desist” from “making defamatory remarks.” Also the letter forbids myself and my children from attending the dance studio. Meanwhile still charging my debit card. The Fire Marshall’s investigators are still currently investigating the violations. The studio and owners actions are egregious and discriminatory. I have also contacted the State AG’s office.

    Good Afternoon,

    I represent Sherry ******** and Sherry’s Dance Center, LLC in this matter.  Please accept this email along with the attached documentation as a formal response to Complaint # ******** made by ***** *****.  *** ***** enrolled his daughters at Sherry’s Dance Center and agreed to the attached policies at the time of enrollment.  Beginning in December 2022, *** ***** began making defamatory and baseless complaints about Sherry’s Dance Center, LLC to instructors and clients.  Numerous attempts were made  by Sherry Dennison to contact *** ***** and discuss any issues he may have had with the studio.  The continued harassment by *** ***** resulted in my office sending a cease and desist letter (see attached) on February 2, 2023 which informed *** ***** that he was no longer allowed at the studio.  *** ***** had his account set to auto debit and on February 3, 2023, the studio refunded his February tuition that had processed (see attached).  In accordance with the policies signed by *** *****, he is not owed additional reimbursement.  Additionally, I have included the unfortunate way in which *** ***** has communicated to me and Sherry ******** upon receipt of the cease and desist letter.  Please contact me with any questions or concerns.  Otherwise, I trust that this matter will be closed with no negative impact to my client.
