This company attempted an indoor mailbox installation at my property in ** in November 2024. They miscalculated being able to mount the mailbox. We agreed to move it outside if they could secure it with a pedestal. *** requested $250 to purchase the pedestal. I sent money via *****. His team could not find a metal pedestal and opted for wood (without consent). They installed the mailbox and it looked terrible. *** and I agreed that I would get the pedestal and they'd finish the project another day. He asked for $100 for a labor charge and said that the $350 would become a credit towards the total cost. I agreed to this and sent an additional $100 via Zelle.I procured the additional parts after consulting the best items with ***. They arrived in early December. *** said we were first up when the weather was warm enough (40 degrees or higher). I tried to get on the schedule between December and February when we saw the weather was warm. Called and left voicemails. I texted. No response from ****** husband reached out in February, and *** answered. He said we'd be first up the next week. This didn't happen. I reached out on Thumbtack and he replied and asked me to text him. I checked in via text and he shared the delays were due to the weather and said we should consider finding another vendor. I reminded him that we already paid him a portion of the cost to complete the work. No response. Later this month, I inquired about whether we could use the credit towards other tasks that his team could complete. No response. I reached out twice in March- no reply. I called and left vmail and text on April 2nd to note we had waited for warmer weather and requested to be on the schedule by April 20th or that we would request a refund. No response. On 5/3- I left a review on thumbtack to indicate my concern with the professional. *** replied denying the project - "only hired to do pressure washing...we told you you had to get another contractor to install a mailbox"
