Had bathkrafters come out to renovate our old bathroom. ***** (business owner) told us in the contract that there is a warranty included for any leaks. This gave us extra peace of mind at the time. Shortly after the work was finished by bathkrafters we found out that the toilet they did is leaking. The reason for the leak is that they made the floor higher but never adjusted the toilet piping to fit the floors new height. Luckily it is a pretty minor leak but needless to say its a leak and it has completely ruined a big chunk of our ceiling over ******* we gave ***** a call a few weeks after the bathroom renovation was finished to let him know about the leak. He said that he is not fixing it and that we as the homeowner are at fault. So we will be paying thousands of dollars more to fix the leak.

In starting my response to this complaint I would like to make it clear that my company offers a one year warranty on all labor included in our jobs. The person who issued the complaint was not the person who signed the contract on May 17, 2021. The job was started on June 24, 2021 and ended on July 9, 2021 when we received the final payment. As you can see by the inclosed text messages that I received 18 months after the job was finished I don't feel that my company is responsible for any damages. I have included a copy of my response. I feel that a one year warranty is pretty much a standard in the industry. If had been notified within the warranty period we would have been glad to take care of thew problem.

    Thanks

I am rejecting this response because:

The leak happened immediately after you finished the work and you are 100% responsible. You just dont want to admit it. Multiple licensed plumbers have come out to take a look at the leak and all of them have said that you, Bathkrafters, are responsible. We wouldnt accuse you unless we are 100% sure. And we are! And weve spent thousands trying to fix it! We did not call 18 months after the work was finished that is also a lie! It took a while for us to realize the leak because it was slow and took time to damage the ceiling.

Any customer that pays a licensed contractor $13,000 to put in a bathroom should not be calling back about a leak at all. You shouldnt even have a license! Future customers should be aware of what happened to us and your lack of accountability!

You put the toilet in without adjusting the height of the piping to match the new height of the floor that you put in! Which makes sense because you are not a plumber. Youre a contractor that pays another party to do the plumbing.

It was a huge mistake choosing your company!

This letter is from the signed party that paid for the bathroom to be renovated in full.

    Sincerely,

    ***** **** and her son ******* ****
