On February 7th, I wrote a check for $6,150.00 made payable to James ******. He gave us a written agreement to install a fence around our entire yard. It was supposed to take 2 full business days to complete. After excuse after excuse. He finally dropped off Danny (his worker) on Tuesday February 27, 2023. Danny proceeded to put 50 holes in my yard. On Wednesday James showed up with my fence and poles on Danny's trailer. When James saw there was water in the holes, he told my husband he had to go to town to get different cement, yet another excuse. He knew that it had been raining for several days. He should already have that on Danny's trailer. After James my husband had words about him finishing the fence he got upset. My husband told him to get the job done. My husband came inside the house. A few minutes later he realized that both James and Danny were gone. My husband proceeded on texting James. He stated that he was canceling the contract because that's what my husband told him to do if he couldn't finish the job. Prior to all of this mess. James underestimated the job by $4,000.00. According to him he went by the satellite reading of our property instead of actually measuring the property line. I believe this is the real reason he stopped the work. I have sent him several text to please return our money to no avail. I have sent him a certified demand letter requesting my money. I am asking for our money be returned. I have someone else who will do the job. I just need James to be a professional and return my money.
