On April 10, 2023 I had sent my vehicle for repair damages at FG1 Auto Body Shop in Silver Spring, Maryland. After my insurance adjuster estimated 14 hours of labor and supply shipment—I had not received my vehicle until May 3rd, 2023. Upon desperate retrieval of my car after multiple inaccurate and mixed statements of the vehicle’s condition from different employees, I found the interior of my vehicle heavily tampered with. My personal belongings (mostly documents) were taken or disposed of from the locked glove compartment of my vehicle. In addition, a wallet of photos were also stolen from the vehicle in addition to petty change and other personal belongings that have been untouched in previous vehicle maintenance procedures in the past. More concerning, I had photographed my vehicle April 23rd (photo attached) while it was still in FG1’s possession my car parked across the street with a parking ticket issued. When I went to retrieve my vehicle the parking ticket was removed and the owner not only failed to mention the ticket nor offer compensation for the ticket but also informed me that the job was incomplete— the car is missing a light fixture. I’m outraged in a business practice in which condones theft and rummaging of personal items that were intentionally locked away. My wallet of photos was taken, documents, as well other personal items while returning an unfinished vehicle is unfit to be in business. This felt particularly targeted as I’m a woman especially as I was asked if I knew the model of my car despite repeatedly stating so. The failure to report a ticket, resolve the ticket, or compensate me for the parking ticket is FG1’s failure and foul play. Other customers risk their vehicles being extensively searched with items taken or destroyed is reprehensible. Never had I had more unprofessional or flat out disrespectful service and poor workmanship with failure to complete a job I had paid in full.
