      On October 25, 2023, I went to this establishment to have a root canal performed. I was told that my insurance company was in network and I paid approximately $357. I received a bill from them for $1200. They said that my insurance was not in network. I explained to them that this is not right, and I should not be responsible for this bill because I never wouldve had my service performed there if my insurance was not in network. I have sent emails and spoken with billing twice and both times, I was told that the office manager will contact me. Today, no one has followed up with me regarding this matter.

      Have been waiting for a claim to be completed for months after a visit on 06/09/23. Have yet to hear back. Left several messages to no avail. All I received was a balance-due bill after their billing department advised me that I would actually be receiving a credit for the amount I paid at the time of my appointment because they were backed up on claims. Now, I received a statement from my insurance where they charged the same service 3x, which demonstrates they were trying to pull more money from my insurance. I have reported fraudulent activity with my insurance, but I expect them to fix their system instead of trying to continue to send false claims.

      On June 13, 2022, I went to RCT Endodontics in Silver Spring for a root canal. I used **** Dental insurance as my primary insurance and was asked to pay a copay of $1,133.05. I received an Explanation of Benefits from **** indicating that my portion of responsibility was $1,010.3 and that they had mailed the check to RCT on 7/1/22. I called several times inquiring about the status of my refund as I am owed $122.75 and I was told they still have not received the check from ****. I called **** who told me that they indeed mailed the check on 7/1/22, but that it was not deposited. **** indicated that RCT would have to call them back to request that the check be reissued. During the last discussion, it was determined that RCT never received the check because they provided the wrong address and did not definitely indicate what proactive steps they took to resolve the issue. I am requesting intervention from the BBB as this matter has been pending now for more than 12 weeks. RCT should be able to work directly with GEHA to ensure that payment is received at a valid address and issue me the refund which is due. RCT seems unwilling to take responsibility for this issue and correct it.

      *** ****** ******** ("Complainant") was seen at RCT Endodontics Silver Spring, Maryland, on June 13, 2022, for dental treatment. RCT Endodontics communicated that the Complainant would be responsible for paying $1133.05. After **** Insurance paid the claim on October 24, 2022, the Complainant received a refund of $122.75 on October 17, 2022. As a result, this matter has been resolved. Thank you.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  The company states that the issue has been resolved. What they did not clarify was that it was completely their fault that they didn't receive payment from my insurance company as they listed the wrong address on their remittance. In the future, the company should be more efficient in resolving these types of billing errors when the customer was in compliance.  I appreciate the assistance from the BBB.
