    Good morning. While waiting to speak with an accounts person I repeatedly listened to the recorded message they "provide" for those on hold. I was struck by a quote in this outgoing message which greatly surprised me. So much so that I visited the NIH's site to verify a claim being made in the recording. I quote "One in twenty people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer in their lifetime". That translates to 5,000 cases per 100,000 people. The statistic given by the NIH's National Cancer Institute of new cases of colorectal cancer was 36.6 per 100,000 men and women per year. These rates are age-adjusted and based on 2016–2020 cases and deaths. There is a massive difference between 36.6 and 5,000 cases per 100,000 people. A 136.6 fold difference. The recording being used by this company is obviously misleading at best, downright wrong and, frankly, quite frightening. Please review this data and see if you can straighten them out.
