On March 16 2024 I, ****** ******, signed a contract with ******* ***** representing Zion Home Remodeling to remodel a kitchen and main bathroom. I selected luxury vinyl plank flooring. The project was completed in July, 2024. I contacted ******* in November, 2024 after noticing a gap between the quarterround and the floor. ******* came out and repaired the floor- so I thought. 2 weeks later the gap in the floor was back. Also, there is a gap between the tiles in the kitchen. There are several soft spots in the kitchen flooring. A tile is loose and bends down when walked on. A contractor came out for a second opinion on the craftsmanship. I was told that concrete should've been put down before installing the *** flooring. I am requesting the cost of repairing my floors be paid by Zion Home Remodeling. I gave the owner a chance to fix the problem and it wasn't properly fixed. I am disappointed in the quality of work from this company.

      Business Response

      Dear ****** ****** and BBB,
Zion Home Remodeling acknowledges Ms. ******** flooring concerns regarding the luxury vinyl plank (LVP) installation installed at her home. We are committed to resolving these issues in accordance with the terms of our contract.
As per the signed contract, specifically section 14,"Limited Warranty," we provide a one-year warranty against material defects on labor and materials. We are prepared to honor this warranty by scheduling an inspection and repair of the identified gaps and any issues not related to the existing subfloor.
To address your concerns, we would like to offer the following:
Inspection and Repair: We would like to schedule a time for our team to inspect the flooring again. We believe that the gaps you are seeing are likely due to normal humidity and seasonal temperature changes, which can cause minor movement in LVP flooring. We are confident that our experts can make the necessary adjustments to resolve these issues.
We wish to remind Ms. ****** that, as stated in section 14,"the Owners hiring of others or direct actions by the Owner or the Owners separate contractors to repair a warranty item is not covered by this warranty and will not be reimbursed by the Contractor." Therefore, any repairs performed by a third party will void the warranty.
Regarding the reported soft spots, we'd like to refer to Change Order 2.0, line item 4, which was initialed by the customer (signed). This document clearly outlines the potential impact of the existing subfloor thickness on the flooring's performance and the manufacturer's warranty. By proceeding with the installation over existing 1/2" subfloor, the documented potential limitations were acknowledged.
We are still willing to inspect and repair gaps that are not related to the existing subfloor. We believe that repairing your LVP flooring in accordance with the warranty terms is the most efficient and appropriate resolution. We kindly request that you retract your complaint from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) as the current request for a refund and repairs by another contractor is not in line with the signed contract terms.
We are ready to schedule a repair appointment at *********** earliest convenience. Please contact us through the BBB platform or by calling at ************ to arrange a time.
      Sincerely,
      Zion Home Remodeling
