    I had been using Allen Consultants since 2020 to file my taxes. I would have **** ****** file my taxes. The three years I filed my taxes with ****, he never informed me of his fees, I would provide him with all my tax forms and I would receive a return a few weeks later. **** would deduct his fees from my return but I never knew the fees. Since COVID, filing taxes was all done electroncally. I would scan my ID and all my tax documents and email them to ****. On Jan 20, 2023, I sent **** some tax documents. I received additional tax documents over the course of several weeks and sent **** more documents via email on 2/1/2023 and 2/6/2023. **** called me acknowleding he received the documents but stated he had already sent my taxes to the IRS but would just do an amendment later on. **** did call me and state that I should have received a refund for $1,700 however I only received a $16 refund. That was the last time I had contact with ****. I emailed **** 3 times, on March 14, March 20, and April 9th, 2023 checking on a status. **** never responded to any of my emails. I also called Allen Consultants and left a message with his secretary to have **** call me. Never received a call back. Today, October 2, 2023, I received a letter in the mail from the State of Maryland that I owed $187.00 for unpaid taxes plus $8.46 interest. I never knew I owed the IRS money since **** ceased to have any contact with me. This was very unprofessional from **** and Allen Consultants. I also reasonably believe Allen Consultants and **** are scamming their clients and getting unsuspecting people in trouble with the IRS and may also be involved in tax fraud. I would like for the BBB to contact the appropriate channels to have Allen Consultants licensed pulled and firm shut down.
