I went to Nicks on St charles parkway to purchase Ox tails this was on February 24 2023, on the follwing day. I took a closer look at the 2 packages of meat i purchased and there was no expiration date of the meat, there was only a packaging date. i returned to the store to return the items and spoke with a person by the name of Jimmy Hicks. he went on to tell me that the meat was fine and he could not return the meat. i then said the meat cleraly did not have a expiration date or sell by date on it. HE AGGRESSIVELY SNATCHED THE BAG OUT OF MY HAND AND TOLD ME TO NOT SHOP THIER EVER AGAIN!!! mind you i spend a lot of money their each week. THIS BEHAVIOR IS UNEXCEPTABLE andf the fact that they are selling meats with no sell by date attached is ILLEAGLE ACCIORDING TO THE FDA...I WILL BE CONTACTING THE MARYLAND HEATLH DEPARTMENT..

First and foremost, the product has a packed on date within a week from your purchase. Frozen items can be kept for 6 months or longer with no issues. We were inspected by our local Health Department on 2/27/23 in regards to a complaint you filed. The Health Department found us to be in compliance. There are no rules or regulations that we have violated.

More importantly, our company was founded on customer service and while we still strive to achieve 100% satisfaction, it is nearly impossible. We apologize if our manager failed to explain the policy clearly. Items by FDA regulation does not require expiration dates, only a pack on date. We weigh every decision as ethically as possible and always attempt to do the right thing. In this situation, there was nothing wrong with the product purchased. It is clearly stated on our receipts that we have a “No Returns and No Exchanges” policy, which you were in possession of. Our manager was then threatened that you are a “Federal Agent” and that you will get a refund. Regardless of our policy, our manager offered a refund and took care of your concern, to deescalate the situation. We will not stand for our employees to be bullied or intimidated when a customer does not agree with a store policy.
