***** ******* from P.W. Rodgers Design- We signed the contract and sent to ***** on 9/25/2023. Via text message on 9/27, ***** asked for a down payment of 1/3 the cost of the repair. I responded via text the same day telling ***** the contract states that payment should only be completed after the services are completed. ***** responded via text the same day stating the money would be needed to order materials to start the job. We mailed the check for $1,309.53 to P.W. Rodgers on 9/27. The check was cashed on 10/2. He confirmed via text message that he received it. We did not hear anything from ***** for several days so I reached out via text message asking for an update on 10/10. ***** responded via text message the same day that they submitted a request to the insurance company for an updated quote to replace the entire roof. After not hearing from ***** for another several days, I contacted Farmer's on 10/16 to confirm they received the updated quote from *****. They said they did not receiving anything from ***** or P.W. Rodgers Design. On this day, I tried calling ***** and the P.W. Rodgers office for an update. Farmer's also tried contacting ***** and were unable to connect. On the same day (10/16), I contacted my bank letting them know that I believed I was scammed and this was fraud. They agreed and suggested I also file this report. I also sent ***** a text message on 10/16 stating we would like a return of our down payment of $1,309.53 due to the reasons laid out above. We believe they broke the contract by cashing the check without any services performed, failing to communicate appropriately with us, and lying about communicating with our insurance company. ***** replied via text message within 3 minutes saying he would call. I responded via text asking that all communication should be done via email or text message so it could be documented appropriately. I have not received an email or text message as requested.

We hired Patrick *******, the owner of this company to do an addition on our home. He immediately lacked good communication. Eventually he got the whole dug for the addition. Then block were needed to do the basement walls and he gave the run around on why the block were not being. Eventually they were ordered and my father in law put up the walls. At this point Patrick barely did any work but time came for his part. Weeks go by and he still hasn’t done anything. We start to suspect that something is off then we see a review on his Facebook page that he doesn’t pay subcontractors. At this point we are done with this guy, we request invoices and the materials he bought so we can find another builder. Patrick can’t produce the invoices and hires an attorney. Turns out he didn’t pay any of the contractor that dug the hole and poured concrete. They started threatening to put a lien on our home. He just took our money and has destroyed us financially. We are so lost and have no idea how we are going to get this house addition paid for and finished.

P.W.******* Design is currently without liability insurance. We are also experiencing an ongoing bankruptcy process. Some contract will be completed by other companies and they will be in contact. Please contact ###-###-#### with any questions.

Most of the contracts will be give to another contractor to finish at the same agreed price. The timelines will be different, and the contract will be in contact asap.

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:

Based on the track record with this company, I don’t believe anything he stated in his response is going to happen.

I am not satisfied with the answer and I would like all the invoices showing what was purchased with all the bank draws he received.

    Sincerely,
