We sent a ******** Turbo Pump P/N TMH262 to ADVACO on 10/24/2024 for inspection and repair. On 11/15/2024 the sales representative wrote I dont have access to the production schedule but it looks like parts for your pump have been ordered so I would guess theyre going to get started on it pretty soon. We asked for status updates over the last six months. When pressed for an answer on when we could expect some information, the company went silent. When we demanded the return of our equipment on April 24th, 2025 they responded with "your turbo was deemed unrepairable" and demanded 10% of the repair cost to return our equipment to us with no evidence that they performed any testing or evaluation - which is contrary to their email on 11/15/2024 where they indicated they had ordered the repair parts for our unit. We are assessing that they took no action whatsoever over the past six months and are attempting to defraud us.

We paid $4465.00 on PO ****** to have a pump rebuild done on an Edwards Scroll Pump. They shipped the pump to us and as soon as we put the pump back into use it was immediately making a noise. We knew immediately that something was wrong, we contacted them and returned the pump for repair, which should have been under warranty from the work they had been paid to perform on the pump. They are claiming we damaged the pump and would have to pay for another repair. There is no way we caused the damage when it was immediately making the noise when we received the pump back from them. After numerous calls and emails, they will say nothing, but it is our fault. We have asked on numerous occasions to speak to the President of the company or someone in that type of roll to try to resolve this and they will not give us contact information for anyone, only that they will have someone contact us and no one ever does. After months of getting no response, we finally asked to have the pump returned to us and they returned it to us completely torn down, with pieces in boxes and we don't even know if all the pieces are there because we do not know to completely reassemble this pump.

The customer sent a scroll vacuum pump to us for rebuild in June of 2023. We completed the rebuild and it passed all required performance specifications as shown in the attached test report. We shipped the repaired pump back to them on August 10, 2023. The customer placed the pump into service on August 16, 2023 and provided us with the warranty registration document at that time.

The customer then contacted us on September 18, 2023 stating that the pump had become noisy during operation. They shipped the pump back to us for evaluation on September 28, 2023.

We evaluated the pump and provided the customer with the attached failure analysis report (*******.pdf) which confirms that the pump ingested foreign material while in use at their facility after it was initially rebuilt. This foreign material (black in color) caused the pump to lose internal tolerances due to those clearances being occupied internally by the debris. Our evaluation determined that the pump did not fail due to defects in parts or workmanship, so any necessary repairs were not covered under warranty.

The customer did not agree with our assessment, and implied on more than one occasion that we did not perform the initial rebuild in August, and claimed that the condition shown in the report was a result of that. The attached test report confirms the pump was performing to specification after rebuild and that the rebuild was in fact completed.

The customer wanted the repairs to be covered under warranty and we declined based on the findings presented in our report. The customer requested that the pump be returned.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

What we meant by "they have done nothing to correct the problem" is that no one would respond to try to correct this issue.  When the President of ****** requested to speak to the President of ****** no one responded to the request.  We were not given the contact information for the President, we were just told that he would contact us and no one ever did.  The President of ****** was hoping to be able to resolve this "dispute" in some manner, but since no one would respond to his request after numerous tries, we requested that they return our pump because to us as it appeared to us that they were not interested in even attempting to work this out.

    Sincerely,
