      Hired this company to replace damaged plumbing running from well to house. Work was completed very late in the day. One of the 2 employees who were on site promised that they would return & finish leveling the dirt that was displaced by their digging. They never returned. I emailed the business at least twice asking them to return & level the yard (and parking area) that they damaged. The uneven spots were a danger & could cause a person to trip and fall. They did not return. They did not even acknowledge my emails. We ended up having to pay another company $500 to repair the damage to our property that *** created. I am asking to be refunded the $500 that we had to pay to restore our property to the condition it was in prior to SWD creating the damage. Thank you.

      In response to our clients complaint,

      Somerset Well Drilling Co., **** has had a long and healthy service history with the client since 1987 when we installed their well system.  

      According to our records, in 2022 they started having issues with their well system.

      Feb. 2, 2022 -  We were contacted by the client for a no water emergency call. Our company quickly responded and made the needed repairs. Our receptionist was told someone had hit/broke the well head but it had been repaired by someone else prior to our arrival.

      March 15, 2022 We were contacted by the client for a no water emergency call. Our company quickly responded and made the needed repairs. Our service tech suggested installing a new suction line to the well due to the nature of the call.

      September 14, 2022 We were contacted by the client for a no water emergency call. Our company quickly responded and made the needed repairs. Our service tech suggested installing a new suction line to the well and moving the pump & tank to the crawl space to prevent any future freezing issues.

      We repaired the system at each service visit, the return calls were due to the client not protecting the system from freezing weather and/or faulty piping installed by others.

      November 23, 2022 An estimate to install a new suction line, new pump, and a new tank in the crawl space was sent to client. No response from client.

      January 24, 2024 We received the signed estimate dated 11-03-2022 and the client asked us to schedule the work asap. On January *******, after our Miss Utility locate ticket had cleared us to dig we sent a two man crew to the clients property and performed the work listed in the estimate. During this timeframe wed had very heavy rainfall for several days and it was extremely wet in the clients yard. The new well line could not be installed/trenched in with the normal trencher so we had to use a small excavator.We completed the job and back filled the trench to our best ability due to the saturated soil. We intended on returning to the clients property to re-grade the area when the area had a chance to dry out.

      The client was very unhappy with the invoice total and stated it was much higher than the estimate so we applied a $360.00 credit to their invoice and they paid us for the work on February 21, 2024.

      Before the clients yard was dry enough to re-grade they had hired someone else to do the work. It was our clients decision to hire someone else to re-grade their yard before we were able to return. We dont feel we are responsible for paying that charge.

      We did respond to our client and we always have done so promptly and professionally over the past 37 years.

      We look forward to a resolution and a continued service relationship with our client in the future.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      First, I don't know about the long relationship that SWD is referencing because I didn't move to this location until 2015. 2022 was my 1st encounter with SWD. 

      SWD completed work on JANUARY 30, 2024 with a promise to return when the yard dried up. I contacted *** on MARCH 12, 2024 requesting that they come back & repair the damage they created. *** did NOT reply to email or contact us.

      I made another attempt (via email) to have SWD return & make things right on JUNE 26, 2024. Again, NO response. The damage was creating a hazard due to uneven surface. My vehicle even got stuck in the trench (picture provided previously).

      When we didn't receive a response to the final email, we were forced to hire someone to fix the damage. The damage was repaired on approx. JULY 27, 2024.

      We waited for SIX MONTHS for SWD to return as promised to repair the damage they created. That is MORE than enough time for them to have returned & fixed the damage they created.
