      Please - do yourself a favor - ONLY hire contractors that have been recommended to you personally by a trusted friend. I will never make this mistake again.
      We discussed with Rob at our first meeting that the only reason we were not going with the contractor who did our kitchen remodel was his lack of communication. Other than that, he had done an excellent job. So, communication was our highest priority. We were assured that he would be communicative. That did NOT happen. He was very difficult to get in touch with….did not answer the phone (either office or cell), rarely returned voicemails or texts, did not provide any updates on the project….you name it, he did not communicate. We also expected, like our kitchen contractor, that he would handle the ordering of products. We had to order practically everything. And then, if something didn’t work properly or was not as expected, it was completely on us to rectify that situation. He picked up the wrong wall tile at the store because he did not check what they put on his truck – so details are definitely not his “thing”. All he did was hire the subcontractors who performed all the work. He provided minimum oversight of the subcontractors and did not convey to them the details we had worked out and gone over with him. They were always asking us for direction rather than asking him. We learned that he expected us to function in that role when we later complained about something not being performed correctly and he told us we should have been overseeing things. What?? We don’t really understand what services he provided as a contractor – what we actually paid him for. I spent hours trying to make the penny tiles in our tub-surround look circular, as they were meant to be…..round. The subs didn’t bother to clean the grout off of the tile when they laid it. I could go on and on, but our experience was downright depressing and stressful and we definitely did not get the quality job we had been led to expect we would get.
