I purchased a rear axle for my **** ***** Colorado. I was told the vehicle the axle was coming off of at Gary's Auto Salvage had ******* miles on it and everything was tested and before selling and worked. I picked the part up on Friday 1/27/2023 at 4:00pm. (the mechanic JUST got the part off their junk truck as I arrived) Today my mechanic was doing the install on my vehicle and couldn't believe the shape the axle was in. The parking brake was cut off, the diff cover had a hole in it, the wheel cylinders were so rotted that the brake fluid can't be bled and has to be replaced. When calling ****'s today to discuss this and ask why I was sold this in the condition it's in, his response was normally people would just buy the new parts to replace them. I reminded him that there was a 90 day warrantee on the part and "normally" would just be an assumption. I reminded him that we spoke in depth for a week about this part and why I needed it and to "Assume" would not be a professional thing to do. I paid almost ****** for a part that I have to put more money into to ensure it is safe! The gentleman on the phone brushed me off. I told him that clearly the price he sold this part to me for was considered a rip off to me and he laughed! He had no intentions on making anything right with me. Very unprofessional and I truly feel that he looked at this situation as a "take it and run kind of a deal because I am a female! Clearly when there is a warrantee on a part, it's the WHOLE part and NOT just parts he thinks should be covered. Very disappointed to say the least!
