    I am a disabled ********* having served for 24 years. I started renting from Berwick Self Storage (***) approximately in 2001 when my eldest son's Army unit was deployed to ****. I stored his belongings in a storage unit there. The original owners sold the storage units to the present owner. I have continued to rent from *** under the original contract for years now. In Dec. 2024 I was notified that my rent was going to increase to $199 in *********** I was given a Letter of non-renewal, for no reason and threatened that I would be locked out of my unit if I did not pay *** rent for last May and June. I have always paid on time and owed them no back rent. I explained that to the manager, ***** *****. She was disrespectful towards me and told me that did want to rent to people like me. I am Native American. I then receive a letter stating that my rent is now $299 dollars a month, stating that they had not increased my rent for years. I believe that this is an unfair business practice. I paid my rent last month of $299 under duress and will pay it again this month under duress. My grandson gets out of school on June 13th and hope to have him help me empty my last storage unit. I had multiple units at one point. *** and Route 4 Storage are own by the same person and are across the street from one another. Both Storage locations have close to 100 empty storage units. My wife called and talked with a different manager ***** ****** and asked him if they raised everyone's rent by $100 dollars. ***** stated "no, we only raised your husbands rent by $100.
