    Top Cutt Tree Service quote on 4/17/25 Hired 4/17/25 Work completed 4/21/25 Customer: ******** ****** work performed at her home ******************************************************************** ******** is my Mom. She will be 91 years old in July. I am her daughter, ***** ******. I have been helping her with this issue. I was there when **** went to her home; we walked around outside as she outlined what she wanted done. Work to be done:Tree trimming, shrub trimming (states tree work is his "specialty")Spring clean up - rake out gardens/mulching, leaf blowing from yard Plant flowers in beds - customer provide plants Removal of all debris Price given for the work discussed:Spring cleanup $600 Fresh mulch, laying beds $475 Tree work - pruning 'as discussed' $1,000 **** estimated the work would take a couple of days; he would come back later in the spring to do the trimming of the two shrubs, and plant the ******* **** said call if she decide to have him do the work, he would put her in his schedule, he could get the work done within the next couple of weeks My Mom called that day, said she would like to move forward and have him put her on his ************* completed 4/21/25- 1 day Issues with the work:no raking done; beds were just covered over with mulch - no clean up underneath not all tree trimming completed mulching not complete Clean up not complete After further inspection, the issues noted above, we called **** the day of service. He argued and talked over me at first, then finally agreed to come look at our concerns. I called again the next day to add to the list of concerns. He was very short, told me he had already agreed to come and fix everything he missed. I asked him for the receipts for the mulch, as we were under the impression the cost would be $475 not $975. I asked that he call me when on his way, since my Mom is frail, has difficulty hearing. I want to be there. I told him I was concerned that he took advantage of her. 4 more calls - never called or came.

    Work was checked over with customer, then check was signed after work was completed. Business was under the impression that the customer was satisfied with the work. Business will reach out to the customer to see what the issue is and fix anything if needed.

    Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered. 

    Dear Boston BBB,

    This is in response to the letter we received today regarding the response you received from the business which is the subject of this complaint. 

    To speak to the owners comments specifically from that letter, my Mom called him and asked for a quote for the work she wanted to have done. He came. The three of us walked all around the house while my mother pointed out everything she wanted done. He came up with a quote for the work she requested. He agreed to do the work for the price quoted. When he completed the work, at the time he was leaving my Mom was not up to going out to look at everything, but she said she trusted him. She did write the check,( which was cashed the same day)  He said quite clearly to go and walk around when she was up to it and to let him know if he missed anything. He said he would come back later in the spring to plant the flowers and trim her shrubs. For the owner to respond in the manner he did, is clearly a depiction of what we have experienced from him. He is dishonest, unreliable, a poor businessman and a poor communicator. 
    We continue our complaint for the above noted reasons. 

    In addition,
    To continue from where I left off on the below initial submission, since then, my Mom called and left a message asking him to please come back and finish the work. We heard nothing from him. Then she called again and requested her money back for the work he agreed to do, but did not complete. We heard nothing. We did not hear anything at all from the owner until May 8, 2025. The owner called my mother and told her he would be there on Saturday the 10th. He said he apologized and said he had to take his mother to a hospital in ******. The owner never called or showed up on Saturday. My Mom called him again and the owner said he cant work in the rain. He is waiting for a not rainy Saturday, as he is otherwise all booked up. 

    There is no way this man did not know what we were asking him to come back and do, and have continued to ask him to do.
