The business ordered me a recoil for a generator. When I installed the part it broke on the 2nd pull. When I tried to get a replacement or a refund the president of the company screamed and belittled me and told me I would not get a refund because he doesn't carry that part in store but he sold it to me and that even though all the parts in the boxed were used on install he says that in his eyes he can see that the drum wasn't used to install and that's why it broke so its not his problem. So now I'm out 80$ with a defective part and not sure what to do with it besides throw it out.

******* did not get screamed at and belittled because he wasn't even in the store. His wife came in and demanded a new part in which i looked at the broken part and the starter cup that comes with the rewind that was never installed. She called ******* and as he is screaming at his wife and said that he didn't replace the starter cup because it looked the same and his wife confirmed that was what was said. This part was ordered as a favor for a local construction company and no we do not supply parts for this brand or work on this brand of engine.  Somehow things got twisted and 2 of the rewinds got ordered.  One for ******* and one for the company so ended up with an extra. Being we had another we took the profit from the 1st sale and took it off the cost of the 2nd and sold the 2nd to her for $25.  Within the hr he was blowing up our ******** messenger in which I informed him he still needed to find the cause of the problem. The 1st one broke for a reason so is it just the fact that he didn't replace the starter cup? Maybe the valves are loose and need adjusting so it can't spin by?  Is the flywheel key partially cut?  Is the decompression release on the cam broken? If this job was done at a shop the shop would of had to eat the rewind because it was not diagnosed properly or wasn't installed right. In short his mistake cost him $26.38
