    Business Response

    Date: 11/21/2023

We run a professional specialty office with multiple providers and as medical professionals we have a standard of care to uphold. Proper rapport, patient diagnosis, treatment planning and compliance is essential to building our patient-provider relationships. As part of this exam, we have a thorough review of medical and dental history as our health begins with the oral cavity. When treating new patients or inactive returning patients, dental cleanings are not provided until after a thorough exam and x-rays. This is an office policy and patients are told in advance.  While inconvenient for patient time management, we have no way of predicting the health status of teeth and the amount of time necessary to complete services until the examination is complete. Not every person needs a simple cleaning and until proper screening is completed this cannot be determined.

We do not solicit patients and commuting to our office was a decision made by the patient.

While we did make an administrative scheduling error with one appointment, the patient has only been to our office a total of 3 times in a 5-year period and has not returned for routine care as recommended. The services that have been billed to insurance reflect only services that have been provided.

Rather than trying to resolve or address any complaints directly with a manager, the patient chose to become angry and yell until he was asked to leave.
