I contacted the company looking for a patch and reglazing services for a fiber glass tub. That request got lost in translation somehow and ended in just being a clunky white tub patch/inlay.I was charged $1200 for a $100 patch with foam underneath the crack and this job took 2-3 hours max. Before he left he noted the corner was not full sealed down and asked for a weight. Which he then said the corner looked fine but it was not.He pressured me to sign the receipt before looking at the repair work. My mistake.I gave the tub a few days and did not touch or pull at it. I did apply the weight he had asked for on the corner that was not sealed down. That corner is still not sealed, and I am not comfortable that I wont have another ceiling leak from the crack. When I texted my concerns with the patch and asked for a refund it was rebuffed and I was accused of causing the issue with the work. I texted again asking for my money back and havent heard anything.Kind of shady practices and workmanship.

Thank you for reaching out to me about Complaint# ******** filed on 8/03/2024. After my conversation with you today I wanted to respond to this complaint. ! : As I have just become aware of your BBB complaint I wanted to follow up with you and address any concern about the job you hired A Plus Classic Bathtubs to address on July 25, 2024. You called and stated you had a crack/break in your fiberglass bathtub/shower unit and it was leaking on your ceiling of your home below. I asked you to text me a picture of the crack/break in your bathtub and you did. After receiving and reviewing the photo I called you and spoke with you at length and let you know the only way we can fix and repair the crack/break and gaurentee the work was by installing a Inlay after we came into repair and reinforce the bottom of your bathtub. At that time I also gave you an approximate cost before coming out to do the repair and install the Inlay of $1,200-$1,500 dollars approximate cost. At that time I asked you if you would like me to order the Inlay so I could come in and Install it. You asked me to go ahead and order the Inlay and I made an appoitment with you to come out to your home on July 25, 2024 in the morning to do the job and install the Inlay. When I arrived in the morning of July 25, 2024 I brought the Inlay in to your home and we went upstairs togethor to your bathroom to place the Inlay in your bathtub and to show you exactly what the Inlay looks like after the bathtub is repaired and reinforced and the Inlay was placed in the bottom of your bathtub so you could see exactly what the job entailed. At that time you said ok and I began the process of cutting out the crack/break in your bathtub and spray foaming the break underneath the bathtub to reinforce the bathtub. The next step after reinforcing the bathtub with sprayfoam was to apply epoxy 1 over the crack/break to seal the area and after applying the epoxy I installed the new Inlay over the entire area and began cleaning up. The crack/break that was leaking no longer could leak where I had repaired and reinforced the fiberglass bathtub and Installed a new Inlay so your leaking problem was corrected. While cleaning up I noticed the back right corner of the Inlay about a 1/2 inch approximately was not adhering to the epoxy and I asked you for a weight to put on that corner to hold it firmly until it dried. I did explain at that time once and a while that does happen. When you brought me a weight I elected not to use it at that time because I could see the epoxy applied under the approximate 1/2 inch corner and felt that it was going to adhere and needed more time as it was drying. I did instruct you not to touch the bathtub for 24 hours where the Inlay was still drying and that if I needed to I would come back and correct the approximate 1/2 inch corner if it did not completely adhere and it would take about 15 minutes if I had to come back and that all of my work is gaurenteed. You saw the job was completed and was told not to touch the job for 24 hours as it was still drying. I cleaned up the bathroom and gave you the invoice and said we do get paid when we complete the job. You stated that you were going to have a check from the Navy CU sent to me in 5 days. At that time I had you sign the invoice that the job was completed and that the invoice was $1,200.00 and in good faith trusted that you would send payment for the completed job in 5 days and I left the job site. A short time later you texted me letting me know I should receive a check in the mail in 5-7 days and you said Thank you, again! The very next morning on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 6:50 AM in the morning and less than 24 hours since I had completed the job you texted my work phone and stated the corner of the Inlay does not look like it fully sealed, it still moves a bit when I shift the weight on it and its not fully pressed onto the bathtub. You said you were concerned it will not hold up and you have decided to contact another company to see if you could get an epoxy fill for the crack and have the bathtub reglazed. You asked is there any way I could get a refund of the money for the service. I could not imagine why you were asking for a refund when I had just completed the job less than 24 hours before and the Inlay was not even completely dry yet and you put a weight on the area specifically after being told not to touch the Inlay for 24 hours where it was drying and all my work is gaurenteed and I completed the job in good faith and 2 1 : was instructed by you to order the Inlay and to complete the Job in your home. You have not reached out to me to come in and seal the 1/2 inch corner I questioned when I was completing the job and specifically asked you not to touch the Inlay for 24 hours. I am still very concerned why you did not call me and ask me to come back out to see the 1/2 corner so I could address it as I told you this does happen from time to time and just needs reglueing. But your problem you asked my Company to correct with the leaking fiberglass bathtub onto the ceiling below was corrected and the Inlay is a seperate part of the process and is not causing your bathtub to still leak on the ceiling below. You signed a contract less than 24 hours before that I had completed the job as stated in your home and you would be mailing a check for payment within 5 days. At this time I do not feel your complaint warrants a refund. The work you contracted A Plus Classic Bathtubs was performed and your fiberglass bathtub crack/break was repaired and reinforced. All work is gaurenteed by A Plus Classic Bathtubs and you have not called to have me come in and see what the weight you put on the tub did and give me the opportunity to reglue the 1/2 inch area in question. I really feel you decided you wanted something else after hiring A Plus Classic Bathtubs to complete the job and solve your problem with your fiberglass bathtub leaking on the ceiling below. We do not work for free and have substantial costs involved in the completion of your job that you hired us to perform and at this time I feel this issue can easily be solved by calling me and making an appointment to correct the 1/2 inch corner that did not glue properly on the Inlay. Other than that the work performed for you was the same work we have done for over 45 years in Maine with no other complaints on our workmanship. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience to have me come in for 15 minutes and reglue the 1/2 inch corner that needs reglueing. Thank you, *** ********
