      We just moved to this area and both my contractor and new neighbor recommended this company for the purchase and installation of our new wood stove. We are very happy with the sales people and the installation went smoothly.

      We ordered a fireplace insert and chimney liner in September 2024 and all paid at time when confirmed.Installation was scheduled for late November. The liner was installed and when the insert was placed it was too deep for the opening.We are on day 8 of an open FP.The company did not contact us for an appropriate substitute insert. All subsequent research was completed by my husband who has been to both stores six times in the last week.This company will not refund the stove installation cost. I feel they are indifferent to our problem which was caused by their error.I do not recommend ******* yourself a favor and go elsewhere. There is local expertise elsewhere.

      Hello ********,  as we have discussed with you and your husband, we are very sorry for the mistake we made sizing your insert correctly.  We have performed well over ***** installations of this type since ************************************************************* the measurements.  We are not indifferent to the problem and in fact have had many conversations with your husband for possible substitutes however none have met with your choice of style.  The choices your husband found on line either did not fit or are a brand that we do not carry which is why you have decided to use another business to find your new insert.  Prior to you posting this review we had issued a 100% refund for the insert and associated accessories that you purchased from us.  We did install the liner which you will use with the new unit you purchased elsewhere, thus you were charged for those items.  Your claim that you were charged for a stove installation is factually incorrect, we have provided your husband with a copy of your signed service order which clearly outlines the services and items you purchased.

      Despite purchasing multiple stoves from this business, when we had a problem, the owner of Evergreen failed abysmally to communicate effectively or resolve the issue in a reasonable timeframe. Specifically, the glass in our brand new $7.000.00+ Bari ******************************************** January when it was our main heat source. Obviously, this was a timely issue. *********************** was made aware of the issue on January 4, 2024. He stated he would contact the manufacturer and get back to us when he heard from them. We requested that we know something asap so we could make alternative plans since it was too cold in the house without the stove. The next day, when we hadn't heard back, we reached out again because we had reached out to the manufacturer, and they informed us that they had the part and couldn't understand why *********************** hadn't already informed us of that fact. They won't ship directly so we had to deal with Evergreen. He didn't get the glass to us until January 12th. We had already purchased a new stove from his competitor. DON'T BUY from Evergreen. Just DON'T.

      (Chimney liner to be installed). Technician was confused on why he was here and wanted to CUT OUT our boiler and move it prior to installing the chimney liner!! WHAT??! Redirected him to call his boss. After liner install was done with two other men, he assured me everything was completed properly. I had NO heat that night and had to called my oil provider who tried to help me restart boiler to avoid the weekend service call. The provider had to come out and found that the boiler OIL SUPPLY had been turned OFF. Service call cost me $190 but when I spoke to ******* at Evergreen Home and Hearth on Monday, he said "we installed the liner and it was simple human error on not turning oil back on" so they would NOT reimburse me!! Extremely disappointed that their service lacked in many ways and ALSO did not reimburse me for THEIR ERROR. Never again. Credit card now in dispute to reimburse me the $190.

      I wish I had read the reviews on Evergreen ***************************** before engaging in a woodstove purchase The first three weeks of operation went well, then the stove started smoking for no reason. The final straw was when the stove began spewing smoke from all sides filling our home with black soot. I called the store and they said to open an outside door for more draft! We reached out to the owner for resolution to the issue we were facing, he sent it to his salesperson instead of contacting us himeself. We received an abrupt reply from the salesperson stating the issues with a chimney that is located on the outside (a pushout) from the exterior wall of the house, the stove would need to burn at high heat to compensate the cold interior of the chimney. This negates the entire reason we bought such an expensive stove that advertised an all night burn. The techs returned with the fireplace surround, measured the moisture in the wood we were using, and swept the new chimney liner three times, gathering creosote on every sweep. Photos were taken and sent to the owner. I sent him an email again, and again no reply. I called him out on his lack of contact with us for resolution and the bad will it had created. We are now out over $6,000 with a stove that does not work well in our chimney situation. One would have thought they may have had this situation before in their tenure, and to warn a potential customer. We proved the moisture content in the wood was in the proper margin, and further proved six weeks of operation demanded a chimney cleaning. Six weeks. We entered into this transaction in good faith as a solution for our winter heat. We have burned wood all our life. We are left with a stove we cannot use and a massive hit to money we can not afford to lose. I hope no one else falls into this situation, but I know better. Shame on us to be so trusting. I hope this review helps others to avoid the same hardship we have experienced. They do not deserve your business.
