A tree fell on the house four years ago I hired this company to repair the roof they hired a group of non-English-speaking workers to replace the roof, ignoring the hole in the roof and the structural damage caused by the tree. within a few days, I noticed a big dip in the roof I notified the company and **** came out, removed some of the shingles and tied two beams together . I have had damage done regarding leakage around my bathroom window I have contacted them over the last four years several times to repair the leakage because I hear the dripping. There is another dip in the roof where the tree fell. I recently contacted them again to come out and repair the damage and they refuse to return my calls or to come out and repair the roof.I have had other contractors look under the roof to take pictures of what is going on. I have multiple pictures of severe damage that was never repaired. I have sent multiple emails and have been ignored. This company has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, they were more expensive than other roofers, but I chose them because they said they would come back and repair any problems. That has not been the case. I checked their references and they have very good references I dont know, how they have such a good rating when they have ignored all my concerns and refused to come out and repair the roof! I believe they are taking advantage of me because I am an elderly woman living alone! The people that have looked at the damage and looked at the contract and their emails have told me they are blowing you off. I would like this issue resolved once and for all.

      Good Evening,

I have sent you a copy of your contract for you to review in January as to what ******* Roofing had been hired to do, We met the scope of what our contact entailed. It was stated to you in your last email that if you needed additional work done outside of this contract that a new work order would be a given and additional costs would be quoted accordingly, as ******* Roofing was hired to strip the roof, sister two, two by fours onto the broken truss, install 1 sheet of plywood & reroof both sides. We were not hired to replace skylights, do siding work or fix any other structural issues you are stating that you are experiencing due to the tree falling on the roof. This is not from the workmanship of the roofing and sistering of the two beams that we were hired to do but additional structural issues from the tree falling on the roof. **** has also come out shortly after when you called after the job was complete and stripped up the piece of plywood that you felt was creating an issue, fixed this area as a courtesy and put it back together. This was all ******* was hired to do, per your contract. We do not do siding work, lower level interior sheetrock, lighting fixtures etc. We also were not hired to do extensive structural construction work. The pictures shown here appear to be dated years ago when the tree initially fell on your home. We value each of our customers regardless of age, however ******* Roofing feels that you are seeking to have additional work done for free that is due to structural issues on your home outside of our contract, without the willingness to pay and feel that we would not be able to meet your expectations, thus we encourage you to hire another contractor or individual to do the additional work you are seeking due to the tree falling on your roof and not the work that was done by us. Thank you~ ******* Roofing

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

Burkes Roofing was hired to fix the hole in my roof after the tree fell four years ago. They told me there was no structural damage - so they just placed a Band-Aid over the hole. Immediately after the shingles were placed over the hole there was a dip in the roof, where the tree came down - that is when **** came out to supposedly fix the problem - apparently there was structural damage. There is now another dip in the roof in the same place. This is when I found out theres severe structural damage which is going to cost me thousands of dollars to repair.

If I had known there was structural damage, I would have inquired about how to repair it. At that point I wouldve asked if that was something they did and they could have told me the truth. Instead, they just walked away and turned their back. I did not expect them to fix my ceiling or do anything else except repair the roof, which is what I hired them to do. My initial conversation with **** is that they would come and repair any leaks which is why I hired them at an higher cost than other roofers. Apparently that is just a marketing technique.

Do not hire ***** Roofing -they are a dishonest company that takes advantage of senior citizens.

We are very sorry you feel this way.  We have come back as a curtsey and made additional repairs within the scope of our work shortly after per your request. We understand you do not feel you would / should have to pay for additional structural work that is outside of the scope of your contract & the work we were hired to do. A new work order contract would be issued & additional fees would occur.  We treat all our customers with respect regardless of age & value all our customers, but also understand meeting your expectations in this situation is not realistic in your monetary expectations of a value of free. Thank you.

I had roofing replaced. The shingles were placed over a single layer of existing roof as I was told this was acceptable and would be less costly and the shingles were architectural and would last up to 50 years. The first rainstorm that occurred with a southeast driven wind, about a month after installation, the roof leaked. ************** came and looked at it and couldnt find where. The second time he looked a bit harder and made some adjustments. The roof didnt bother for another year when we had another southeastern storm. Called again and business has been sold to a family member. Warrantee has expired as the roof was placed over other shingles and has only five year warranty. New owner of the business has no responsibility and wont pass message on to his father who sold me the roof.

Thank you for reaching out.  I *********************** the new co-owner of ******* Roofing & Masonry have offered to have ******************* the new owner and new entity of ******* Roofing & Masonry- son to ******************* the Former owner of ******* Masonry & Roofing (old entity) visit ****************** property as well as review the roof as a courtesy and make needed repairs, if possible. Our wait time currently varies and can be long, as this time of year we become backed up with our workload. (************** recenetly called 2-3 weeks ago).  I asked ************** to review his paperwork in the meantime that was provided to him by retired Mr. *********************** approx. **** years ago as he will see there is no warranty information provided, but again we would be happy to come review the roof as a courtesy. ************** became adjugated & rude, ****************** is retired and speaking to him through our entity or providing personal contact information is a breach of privacy and unfortunately not an option. ************** was issued a IKO shingle that does have a limited IKO warranty and can last several years, however, please note a 2-layer shingle application process is not our recommended form of roofing with our new entity as the longevity varies- but is offered to customers only as a last option when customer is limited on funding, (this was also stated to **************). Again, this roof was not done by our entity and was done prior to our ownership & under the entity of a retired ************** of ******* Masonry & Roofing.  A solution was offered as a courtesy. Two Phone calls by ************** were made to our company late in the evening looking for ****************** calls made were becoming rude and hostel- It is my recommendation ************** seeks necessary repairs elsewhere as we are under no obligation to make requested repairs & do not wish to form a working relationship with **************. We are under no obligation to do so.  We value our customers, offering solutions to former & current customers when possible and strive to build meaningful relationships for years to come with our customers. We enjoy working & catering to homeowners who want the same. If and when issues may arise (as they sometimes do) we will have the ability to work together to remedy the solution in a respectful way. ************** did not exemplify these qualities & we wish him well in finding a roofing company that hold the same values & character he exemplified.
