    Company took deposit of $2200.00. Work was never done. Company never came back to our house. No work was ever completed at all.

    On August 11, 2022 we hired Tomahawk Flooring to construct a screened-in porch over an existing deck. They quoted ** $27,250 to do the job, which they estimated would take 3-4 weeks to complete. They asked for $15,000 deposit, which we paid with a personal check. On September 28, 2022 they requested an additional $6,000 for "increase in cost of materials." We paid that with a personal check as well.From September through December, 2022, they cancelled repeatedly and when they did show up it was usually after 12 noon, which left them only a few hours to work before sunset. After realizing the project would not be finished before winter we reluctantly agree that they would resume in the spring. We contacted them in March 2023 and were assured they would be finished at the end of April. Their pattern of cancelling and showing up after 12 noon resumed and it became clear that our project would not be completed as agreed upon. As of April 28, 2023 the porch remained unfinished. We fired them on May 2, 2023 and, after finding out that ***** law prohibits a deposit of more than 30% of total project cost, we requested a refund of $12,000 ($6,000 excess deposit and $6,000 "additional materials cost"). There has been no response from Tomahawk Flooring.I've uploaded our copy of the quote which indicates the $15,000 deposit and additional $6,000 paid out, copies of our cancelled checks, and a copy of their business card. I would have included a link to their website, which was available when we hired them, but after searching online we were unable to find it.
