***'s Moving was employed to pack and load a Uhaul truck. Most of the work was very good. Some of the packing which we poorly supervised by ** was poorly packed (ripped books, magazines, and broken carvings). I take at least partial responsibility for this. My main concern is that on the final day when the truck was to be loaded, I had a walking cane collection and several open boxes for last minute items were to be dealt with last. Only my son, out by the truck, ***'s workers, and myself were present. I went upstairs to check that all items to be moved had been taken. When I came down, the truck loading was barely started , but this "last minute" boxes and canes were gone although on of the party boxes reserved for the canes was still there. I asked where the items which were to be left to the e d were, I was told the boxes were sealed and the canes were wrapped and put in one box. The boxes were loaded on the truck and now behind many other boxes. I questioned how they got all of they got all of the canes in one box, but was just told they fit. My son and I thoroughly checked the house to be sure all items were out of the house. When the truck was unloaded and boxes unpacked, two of the "last minute" boxes and 10 of 23 canes were missing ( naturally some of the nicest). I have talked extensively with ****, owner(?), of ***'s without any resolution since he has "only ***************** who handle valuable items all the time." All I know is that I am missing items I don't have the funds to replace even if I could since some were gifts from my partner who died hence the reason for my move. An expensive packing job made very much more so by a mysterious disappearance while the packers were present and "packed" items when they were supposed to be loading the truck. BEwARE!!
