***************************, Creative Coast Construction, promised to fix the damage and shoddy workmanship on our home that he renovated, but a year later he has not. When we moved in (July 2021), I went over the issues with him while he waited for me to write a check for just under $100,000 (The total cost was just under $600,000) and he assured me that everything would be taken care of. Since then, we have had to chase him to get anything done. I repeatedly asked for a plan and schedule, but those requests were ignored. Outstanding issues include:1. There a 20-foot crease in the kitchens hardwood floor where they dragged the refrigerator. (And the refrigerator was not properly installed we had to pay the appliance company $250 to properly secure it.) 2. He tried to cover up a messy caulking job on the outside by painting over it with glossy paint our exterior paint is flat. He originally said the only solution was to paint the house and he would share the cost. Our share would be $9,000 (to fix his shoddy workmanship). Unacceptable.3. An HVAC unit was installed just inches inside a closet, severely limiting access to the storage area behind it. He said moving it toward the rear of the closet would be "No problem."4. The balcony over the entryway dumps water onto the front steps. The water needs to be diverted. This is major concern with ice in winter.5. A shower stall was damaged during construction. Repairmen have looked at it on more than once, but no resolution has been offered.6. The finishes on the hardwood interior stairs don't match. Three that make the turn are even a different thickness from the rest. Putty used to fill in the nail holes is dark. The stairs are light, so we have dark dots all over the stairs.7. Two boards in the kitchen floor don't fit flush. ***** said he would take care of those himself because of the skill level required. There are other issues.Bottom line: We just want him to do what he promised he would do.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/16/2022

Creative Coast Construction has been challenged to return to this job because we have not had workers or subs want to return to do work at this residence due to the interactions with this customer. COVID has made it challenging to have the personnel to go into this situation. Currently, Creative Coast Construction has returned to this job in the last couple of weeks to attempt to address this customer's complaints.

    Better Business Bureau:

I did hear from *****************, Creative Coast Construction, last week and met with him on Wednesday. He never mentioned the BBB notification, but I'm sure that that was what prompted him to meet with me. He claims that he will make good on all of the issues I noted, but I've had similar promises from him in the past. I am hopeful that he will follow through, but I will believe it when I see it. The exterior painting is a major issue, and he said that it will be a few weeks before that can happen.

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint #********. I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.

    Regards,
