In April, we put down a deposit of $8900 and scheduled for work to begin on 5/7/24. This never happened and every time we called the office we were told that they would need to check with **** before confirming. In July we called and were told that all the materials had already been purchased, which was not true. After multiple attempts to get scheduled, we were scheduled for September 16th. The office stated it would be done in 1 week. On 9/16 they power washed and painted on 9/19, which I had to call to see when they would be back. We had a phone call on 9/20 to go over what still needed to be done. I texted **** on 9/24 to get an update on when they would be back. He said he would be there on Friday to finish the exterior, paint the sheetrock and finish the window. On 9/27, the office called to let us know that they would not be there due to another property emergency. On 10/14, I texted **** again and he said that they wouldn't be back until materials we bought. October 17th, received a text from **** that he would be going to buy siding. The deposit was to pay for materials, that were never purchased. It took 6 months to start work. On 10/23, we were told that the job was complete, which it was not. The siding on the door and window was supposed to be removed and covered were not caulked. The inside of the door was mud and taped and still wet and just left incomplete. The crew did not clean up any mess and left material in shower and outside. There was damage to the back side of the mobile home. The stairs were built poorly. They gave us a $2700 refund since he was not able to do the skirting as contracted. The work that they did was not completed and not worth $6200. *** Home Repair was negligent and his employees did not do the work up to basic standards and they stole tools that we had on the backside of the mobile home. We now have to pay to get the home repairs fixed as they were not done correctly or even finished.Business Response

This entire complaint is full of lies.
This old trailer was a bad by from the customer and now attempting to get additional funds.
Not at any point did anyone tell the customer we had purchased all the materials, (please attach proof to this).
Did we fall behind? 100% Yes, due to lack of staff.
Not once did we ever say this job was completed as mud cannot dry in a day, I walk off every job before closing it out. However,
This customer demanded we do not come back to finish the jobs, (once we gave them a refund) , there was no damage to this trailer, nor did any of our guys steal basic garden tools.
This property has cameras, please add proof of them taking your yard tools.
Customer, continued to not return our calls, demanded a blank check from us prior for a return, once we all agreed upon a price for a full refund, they then were unhappy again (once they took the check) they would not allow us back.
This was their plan from the beginning, contractors, beware!
This will not be a matter for the courts for defilation.
However, I once again offer for my guys and myself to come back to allow us to finish the job.
If you have any proof that we in ANY way damaged and property, please provide proof and then submit it to our insurance company located on our website.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as ******************************* scammed us and refused to work with us for the last 6 months. We continually reached out to them and were given the runaround with excuse after excuse. We were extremely patient but the workmanship and communication was lacking. The business never called us, it was the other way around. We were always calling them with no communication. Where are the phone records that *** called us multiple times and we never answered. This is a blatant lie. We were told to stop contacting **** (see screenshot of text message).
The secretary at *** Home Repair told us on June 25th that all materials were purchased for this job. Please see attached recording.During this call the secretary confirmed materials were ordered and that **** would be starting the job the last week of July. This never happened. We were not called to tell us that there was a delay they just didnt call. We contacted the business multiple times during the last 6 months and each time we had a question, the secretary would tell us she would need to check with **** and get back to us. She never did. We had to continually call to get an update and were given the same answer each time.
There was zero communication from the business on the process or when things would be happening. We were told last week that *** does not work in timelines even though we were given a date to start the job multiple times.. We were put on the calendar for May 7th when we dropped the check off.. I have also attached the recording for this.
Each time that we reached out to MJS via text message we were told we would have an answer within 24 hours but never did. Each week we had to reach out to see when they would be there to work on the property and we were given vague answers such as later this morning or sometime this/next week". And most times, they just never showed up. The only time that we received a phone call was on 9/27 that they had an emergency and would be there that day. And this was a week after they had been there to paint the mobile home. They didnt come back for almost 3 weeks. We were not given any information on the process, they just showed up occasionally and we had to keep asking when they were coming back.
The refund was not for any work that was completed but for the cost of the skirting that MJS notified us on October 17th that they were no longer able to get the skirting from their supplier and that they would be removing this from the invoice and giving us a refund. The refund that was issued on 10/25/24 was for this. We did not okay any work that was already completed as we did not see the work as we live 1 hours away from the property..The agreed upon amount was based on the work that was supposed to be performed.
MJS told us that they were working on the shower on 10/22, which was a Tuesday. This is the day that we requested to add this on. We agreed to the price of $325 and within 10 minutes were told that the work had already been started on this as at the last minute we no longer wanted this to be added but was told it was too late as they had already started it. We were not told that they were going back to the property after the stairs were completed on 10/23. The stairs were a joke and not even remotely worth the $625 that we paid for them. Not once were we told that MJS would be back to do any other work after the stairs were completed on 10/23. Nothing was scheduled with us, the homeowners.
We have attached the original invoice from March with the items that were supposed to be done but we ended up removing everything from there so that we could prioritize items to get done due to the inability of MJS to complete the work. We were told that they would be back on Friday, 10/25 to pick up the mess from the job, and then were told when we went to pick up the refund check that they would be back this week.
We told MJS not to come back to the property after going to the property and seeing the shoddy work that was done. Our realtor ********* ****** who sold us the property was with us when we went to the property on 10/25 and agreed to be a witness regarding the damage to the mobile home. He was our realtor when we purchased the home and was there again that day. There has been nobody else on the property except for ***. And we had to pay someone else to come finish the work that we paid $8900 for in April that was not done. There is nothing left for *** to come back and complete because we had to find someone else to do it.
In response to the damage to our mobile home, it was not there prior to MJS coming to work on our property. Yes, we have security cameras but they were offline on 9/16 and 9/19 at the request of MJS. Our yard tools were their prior to the cameras being disconnected at the request of MJS to powerwash even though we told them that they were waterproof. Also, on 9/16 when they were powerwashing (stated by them) they did not clean or prep the area. There was spray foam left on the mobile home and they did not try to scrape or remove this, just painted over it. It is not our responsibility to submit a claim to their insurance company, if they even have insurance. The insurance paperwork on their website expired in 2022.

In July of 2023 I entered an agreement to to have repairs done on my residence with MJS home repairs, which included reinsulating the attic, new roof on garage and replacing a cracked window on the breeze way. They had to return 3 times to address issues with the attic such as insulation falling down, missing bays of insulation and clean up. The broken window was a complete disaster and I had to re do it myself. They have been back 3 or 4 times to address issues with the roof leaking. They can't fix it. It's still leaking and now they are ignoring my messages. All of their work is extremely inferior.Business Response

First, I cannot help if you are simply going to start of with lies.
There were no issues with the insulation or window. The window you purchased was not the right size and we made the adjustments as per your request,
As for the roof, we can make another attempt to fix the improper valley once I have the staff to do so. We are very short handed currently.
Noone is ignoring you, We blocked you from ******** as your swearing at our office manager is simply not acceptable. If you are willing to call the office and treat her with respect, she
can get you in the book so we may attempt to fix the improper valley in roof for you.

They came in with bad attitudes, were unfit to preform the job, and damaged my property in the process. When confronted about this damage, MJS home repair claimed that there had been no damage other than the washing machine (very clearly broken). They then withheld an insurance claim until we paid the remaining balance for the service. We had to pay 50% upfront and that led to the poor service we received. And then to demand we pay the other 50%. Correspondence on email showed that when they came for the insurance claim, they recorded me on my private property without my permission or knowledge. When they came to inspect, it was clear they didnt want to see the damage, and they didnt want to help. Many passive aggressive emails from them later, we agree will pay and wait for the insurance (no refund for service) I wake up this morning to see that the job they did was not done correctly and in fact had been slowly leaking all night on to the electrical of the hot water heater. I requested a full refund for their service but they denied saying there is no damage this is not true.Business Response

None of this is factual.
The only damage was to a expansion tank falling and damaging a small portable washing machine valued at $200. which will be covered by my insurance company.
My men are very professional.
This customer is upset over losses he had due to the recent flooding in ******/******* and simply wants to take it out on whoever he can.
I myself came back with my men and surveyed the issues and am taking care of it.
