We spent last weekend here (05/31/24 - 06/02/24) and the cottage was dirty and in great disrepair. There was a cockroach in the shower upon our arrival and I got stuck in the bathroom due to the door not opening from the inside, resulting in me being stuck in there for over an hour waiting from my boyfriend to get back from running errands to let me out. The volume control on the ** did not work, the bedding was old, paper thin, and smelled musty and we were freezing cold all night. The floors were filthy and the shower floor was EXTREMELY slanted/caved in, which caused my boyfriend to slip and fall. This is VERY dangerous and is not up to code. Someone could be very seriously injured in this shower, and I will be reporting this to ***************** Code Enforcement. Additionally, one of the k**** came off of the gas stove while my boyfriend was trying to cook and the handle came off of the toaster. This 2-bedroom cottage was advertised on their website to accommodate 6 people, but it was so tiny that it barely even accommodated just the 2 of us. We were constantly trampling over each other just trying to move around. I reached out to the business and requested a refund, but *************** refused, and even refused to believe that what was saw was a cockroach in the bathroom and claimed it was "probably just a bug from outside." Sorry, but we are WELL aware of what cockroaches look like, and this was absolutely one. We both work in law enforcement and see them in homes that we go to very frequently. My boyfriend has a photo of it on his phone if needed. I only got a "thanks for making us aware of the issue" regarding the bathroom door not opening from the inside and did not even get an apology, and NONE of the other issues were even addressed by *****************. He is now refusing to respond to my emails. I am simply requesting a refund of the $407.66 that we were charged for this stay.

Case ********. ******* Landing Inn.This guest spoke to us numerous times during her stay about but never mentioned any problems in her room.  She did call after she checked out and we addressed all of her issues. Her room was sold for the first time this year to her, we open in May it was painted, cleaned and I the owner turned it over to sell a hour before they came. I check the stove the oven the refrigerators the TV's and the AC's and heaters, all were in working orders and the room was just deep cleaned. We have new linens and new blankets which are lightweight as we are seasonal and only open in the summer months. She also had two built in heaters  so freezing to was not possible. We checked her room when she left, bathroom door opens and closes easily,no way to get locked in, bathroom window open and closes easily no issues.  No smell in the room. The room listed for 5 we sell out from July to Sept with families of five there are two bedrooms with queen **** and a full size sofa
in the living room,2 people would not be confined. The remote was not working the volume, had they told us we would have provided a new one. The oven was broke two screws had been removed and the button pushed in the screws were inside the door to oven, the guest disassemble after getting in the room. I had checked the oven myself! Her husband had to do it as you needed a tool could not happen without a screwdriver. The shower is a center drain ,the slides slope evenly around towards the drain. We did not make the shower that's the way they came.. she also said in her first email her husband almost slipped, when we told her she was not getting a refund she sent a second email saying he did fall and if we did not give her her money she would call the BBB, the code enforcement and the town code enforcement. because she brought none of this to or attention till after she left, and most is not true we would not be issuing a refund. If any of that was true I would give a refund but it's not.
