This man lied on many occasions through the last two years. Stay away from this train wreck of a place and I stuck to the fact because I know there will be backlash for my review. He's also done this to **** and her fiance, a military couple that he stole **** from and when you doubt this post look them up on Better Business they have a complaint much like ours. This house isn't worth what we paid.Business Response

I would never rent to this client again and would never recommend her to any other venue. My staff reported that they have never experienced a more demanding and intolerant guest. She woke up neighbors at 4am with loud music in the hot tub. We had to ask the neighbors not to call police. She left two large garbage cans full of food and trash in the banquet hall. She did not follow the clean up rules as part of the rental agreement. Every turn was drama. We all were happy to see her leave.Customer Answer

So sticking to the facts here I have a perfect air b&b rating. Everything that is said here is a lie just look at the other complaint that is close to us. Go to ****** and look at **** report and has ripped so many so many people. As far as the trash in the barn I thought the staff we paid for would remove that. As for the house we did leave early because of the mold and I have been sick since. We left ten dishes in the sink a water bottle in the room and a trash bag of bottles. As me being demanding there is multiple of these complaints online. We are the nicest ppl you would ever meet. This guy will nickel and dime up next thing you know ur ****** in for a week a run down barn that needs so much work is a fire hazard its ok Ill be calling code enforcement tomorrow. Plus we paid a cleaning fee of 500 dollars. The staff member we paid 250 dollar for to do with what we needed him to do but he refused eating our chicken and stand at the road what did we pay 250 for. This guy is a *****.I have included a txt where his own staff member said he should refund us and the house was in good condition.

If you or your significant other are military. Do not book this venue. As my *********** are both dual active duty military, we booked the venue in 2021 for a wedding in Oct 2022. As i had orders to deploy less than 2 months after our wedding, we decided we did not want to spend that year together not planning a wedding. I contacted the venue, and they said if someone booked the venue, I could be refunded for my $1,500.00 deposit. Now over a month after the wedding date, I had been completely ignored by the venue, sent multiple emails and ******** messages . **** reached out and asked me to email him to email him regarding my issues with the venue. I explained the situation and he was going to mail me a check for my deposit. After looking into it, he discovered the venue was booked, another party had placed another deposit, but also decided to cancel. He explained to me that because it had not been used that weekend, he could no longer refund me. This means he stole $3,000.00 from another *********** He expressed he was unable to process a refund due to that. **** expressed that because he had to show other couples the venue, that he paid employees to do. We had scheduled a viewing on the venue in March of 2021, which the venue had to cancel due to another event. The manager tried to reschedule our appointment to view the venue, but the did not have time to before my husband deployed in April of 2021. How am i responsible for paying his employees to show another party the venue, when the venue couldnt keep their schedules organized & overbooked the same day? I would not recommend using this venue at all.Business Response

This is a copy of our refund policy.
In the event that renters must cancel their reservations after payments, every effort will be made to rent their time to others. If their time is rented to others for the same venue (wedding for wedding; non-wedding for non-wedding), 50% of advanced payments will be re-funded. If their time is rented to others for a different venue (non-wedding for original wedding), no advance payments will be re-funded. Refunds will be made only upon request. The request is valid only at the date of their booking and only after all fees are collected from replacement parties.
The guest with this complaint signed a contract. This refund policy was part of the contract that they agreed too. We are not sure if they read the contract and refund policy, but it was part of the contract and we have sent numinous copies of the refund policy to them since. Refunds, as stated in the agreement, are given if the property is resold for an equal or greater amount. This means that their contract must be purchased by someone else and paid in full before they would receive a refund. This did not happen. Their rental was not paid in full by another party. The renter is upset that we choose to not disregard the written signed contract. We believe that the purpose of a written signed contract is that it should be followed. Our refund policy is not new with us but very common in the wedding venue industry. A simply goggle inquiry with validate this fact. The window for wedding reservations is very short. A signed contract takes the venue off the market, likely not to be replaced with another renter if cancelled. This is why we have this refund policy. We offered this party a conversion to a family reunion rather than a wedding. They declined this offer.

I signed a contract on oct 11 2021 for ***** to secure a wedding date. I was only able to visit the farm 1 time due to poor communication with the manager on the farm. The owner lives out of state. They stated that it can seat up to 200 people in the barn. When arrival the manager did not tour the facility with me, instead was doing renovations inside and helped only when I went and asked a question. On oct 16 2021 I asked the manager if I was able to hire my own bartender and was informed I was aloud to have one. Then a few months later I noticed someone state that this rule changed but was never addressed to me nor did I get a revised contract. On mar 22 2022 I emailed ***************** regarding a couple questions about things changing on the farm. No response. On March 27th 2022 I requested I be reached out to and which the owner did. On sep 6 I saw on social media the manager was getting done. I was never informed on this. I emailed the own then and stated he sent an email out regarding this I never got the email until I reached out and he stated my email somehow got missed. I wrote a lengthy letter stating I was not happy with how things have been going with communication-and loop holes. **** then wanted to do a conference call. We set up a time on 9-7 at 515. During this call I recorded the conversation for records. **** stated and was very a determined that it would hold 200 people inside. Myself and mother in law questioned how it could be safely done and not be a hazard. He could not give any information besides we have done it before. My mother in law also requested to see the plan for the septic as people would ha e to use the bathrooms inside or the one potty they provide. He did not answer this. At the end of the call we mentioned we would be contacting or reaching out to a lawyer and code enforcement for this safety risk. **** then stated I think we could have a beautiful wedding but instead Ill give you a full refund and cut tiesBusiness Response

This is my written response sent to *************************** two days after the 9/7/22 conference call:
9/9/22
Per your request, I am cancelling your August *****, 2023 wedding reservation at The Farm at Worthley Pond. You stated in our conference call 9/7/22 that the reasons for your cancellation are inadequate space to accommodate the number of guests for your event, inadequate communications with *************** and inability of *************** to address your concerns.
During our call you stated that your requests for additional visits to the Farm did not receive attention or response from Farm staff. I noted that my contact information was on the contract and that I had only heard from you once. You acknowledged that the one time you contacted me, ***** our manager promptly contacted you. You wrote me at 10:55am 9/6/22 distressed regarding the ***************. I replied to your email at 11am and then offered a conference call at 12:25pm for the next day. At the call I offered you times to revisit the Farm as early as next week, September *****. I stated that anytime during that week would be available to you. I also stated that other times in other weeks would be open for you to re-visit. You rejected this offer.
During our call you acknowledged that you did not give yourself adequate time to consider the details of the contract or the cancellation policy. You stated you were in a distressed state because Farm staff stated the Farm was likely soon to be fully booked. You stated that you were only able to visit the farm 1 time. From this 1 visit, you were convinced the Farm had inadequate space. Yet, you continued to make payments on your contract. You did not write me or management staff ***** until September 6, 2022 that the Farm could not meet your needs. From the signing of your contract in October 2021 to now,the Farm removed your dates from the market. The Farm likely may incur significate financial loss because of your failure to communicate to the Farm that the space was inadequate and that you could not have your function at the Farm. During our conference call, I offered to fund a significant percentage of a function outdoor tent to add outdoor space for your wedding. I stated that you could choose any size tent that would meet your needs. You rejected this offer.
To further address the space issue, I offered to provide a seating chart where events in the past had seated @175 guests. I recognized that this seating is very tight, and most guests also rent an outside tent. You rejected this offer of a seating chart. I apologized that the addition of a tent was not made at signing. Yet, all weddings have a show rate of @80% of invites and perhaps ***** calculated that the facility could easily seat 140 guests.
During our call you stated that the new alcohol policy was one that was not part of your contract when signing and a policy that was unacceptable to you. I offered to make an exception to the policy for your dates and that you could hire any bartender or bar services you would choose if they had training and licensing. You rejected this offer.
Given these details, I will want to have our lawyer review your claim for 100% reimbursement of your payments. I will want to do that before disbursement of refunds.
