I hired *************************** and her company to do some contracting work on my old farm house back on 4/27/23, the work was to start on 5/8/23. In approximately 11 weeks ************** had only put in 115 hours on site, we had been verbally told it would only take 7 weeks to complete the job. As time went on it was increasingly obvious that ************** was over her head and didn't know what she was doing. I had found many mistakes that had been made and verbally discussed with her that they needed to be fixed. The contracted agreement was that we would pay 2/3 of the estimated cost ($40k) down then pay the final third ($22k)at the completion of the job. On 7/26/23 *************** contacted me and said she was out of money and that I needed to pay her an additional 5 thousand dollars for an addendum to the contract. On 7/30/23 I informed ************** that I would not be giving her more money until the problems had been fixed appropriately. ************** then got very hostile, came to my residence and collected her tools. My mother who is 75, and home at the time told ************** that she was not to take any materials with her. ************** then started yelling and recording my mother and accusing her of assault and showed a scratch on her arm that had been there for weeks and said that my mother did that to her. At this point I told ************** her services were no longer needed and that she was to leave my property. There has been a report made with the Somerset county sheriff department. I have about 40 photos of sub standard work done that needs repair. ************** had purchased used doors and the incorrect materials for flooring that I am now stuck with, as well as now paying out of pocket for the repairs of the things that were done incorrectly. I would like to recoup some of my funds but would be satisfied if she just dropped everything, as she is threatening legal action and a lean on my property. I can not have someone around my family that is willing to cause harm because they are mad.
