I have tried to contact this organization for my own child. I have doubts about the process in which students and families are evaluated to ensure the match is well thought out before the placement of the student is made. We have been part of student abroad programs ourselves especially with *** and have a feeling other organizations are much more thorough in making sure the program is successful both for students and families. No idea why Pan Atlantic is not a BBB certified organization but that might be a red flag. If something is not working out and the organization is showing no concern after placing the student and cashing in the fees parents end up paying (sometimes $14K-15k), students, parents and families are left alone trying to handle a difficult situation with no mediator in support of the well being of the student. I would recommend doing a thorough research before choosing a program, analyzing how students are selected and families are vetted. This is not a match between a need to find a company to perform a job for one day it is a year long program that involves the future of a student and the well being of a family which are both precious and invaluable. There are wonderful programs available and we have experienced a few with our own children, studying abroad as a high schooler can be a positive experience in a life changing way just like hosting a student can establish lifelong bonds with a person from another culture but it has to be handled by professionals, in a professional manner. From what I have experienced, read and heard Pan Atlantic even if by chance the situation can end up working well, it is not a guarantee and I wouldnt want to take a chance with my student. Hope this can help any prospective student or family.

Folks. Stay away. Do not get involved with The Pan Atlantic Foundation. Do not get duped by this company. Our experience included being taken advantage of by this company as they are only in it for the money. They do not care what your experience is as a host family. They do not care what expenses are incurred for being a host family. You will receive little to no support - financially or other - no matter what promises or statements are made during the application process. The application also mentions a $250 monthly stipend. However, *** fails to mention upfront that this stipend only goes to the student staying in your home. Biological families pay $10,000 to have their child participate in this program. None of these monies will go to you as the host family as you provide for someone else's child. To be clear, the way the stipend is presented during the application process is deceiving. The program also states that it will check in with you on a monthly basis so as to be of support to you. This did not occur for us. They did however check in with the student staying with us - but not us. For this reason, we believe PAF harbors deceitful practices.Beware. Reconsider. We, too, wanted to be of help but, in the end, we know we were only duped. Stay away from the Pan Atlantic Foundation. Find another program - or avenue - to be a blessing to others. This company is only in it for the money - and you will pay for it in the end.
