      Hi I had my car windshield replaced at Portland glass in ************** on Feb 27, 2025. When leaving the company my blinker didn't work. My rear review mirror plug was jamed in after i told them not to connect it. My car got shot by gun fire wild parked on the street. The landlord of the apartment was willing to pay for the replacement. My car has not worked since. I had not problems at all with my car. It will not start. I called them and they sent a truck to boost my car and that didn't work. The gentleman that came did not even know what to do. He wasn't the one that fixed the windshield. I have checked with other Mechanics and they said it probably was not put in right. I also checked on line and their is alot of comments about the same thing. It was not replaced correctly. I told them what I was told and they laughed at me. I had to have my car toad to get it off the road. They will not help me. I need my car. Could you please help me we this problem. Mechanics told me it has to be done by a replacement glass company.

      Thank you for contacting Portland Glass of Lewiston with Ms. ******** concerns.

      Records indicate that Ms.******** vehicle sustained damage from several gunshots and Ms. ******* requested Portland Glass replace the windshield which was done on February 27,2025.  We replaced the windshield, and the vehicle was running when pulled out of the garage and again when it left Portland Glass premises.

      Ms. ******* contacted Portland Glass about an hour after leaving the shop advising that the vehicle died in their driveway. Two glass technicians were sent to Ms. ******** location to attempt to jumpstart the vehicle, but it would not start. We found nothing visibly wrong with the installation of the windshield.
      We are unaware how the replacement of the windshield or rehanging the damaged review mirror would cause the vehicle not to start.

      Ms. ******* spoked with the Portland Glass Manager on the morning of February 28th and tried to explain what her mechanic told her the issue was but the Manager did not understand and requested Ms. ******* have her mechanic and /or male friend that was with the mechanic contact her directly to explain what he thought was causing the vehicle not to start. 
      The manager did not receive a call from the mechanic and left a follow up message for Ms. ******* without a response.

      Our Maine District Manager has placed a call to Ms. ******* on 03/06/25 after receiving this contact and left another voice mail. He has plans to reach out again, if no response we will await her call.

      Transaction for replacement bay window in mobile home on 7-20-22 but did not receive a contract or scope of work. Three days later the company called and needed permission to take $1000 from my checking account and I agreed. I did not receive a receipt and only knew money was withdrawn by seeing it on my bank statement.They scheduled and cancelled the installation 3 times last year, once due to the fact they didn't have the main seal piece at the top of the window which they had to order. I finally got a receipt for the $1000 LAST week, and the total was going to be over $2000 plus they would not finish the inside trim.I get the impression they think of me as just a little old lady (I'm 86) but we have built 1/2 dozen homes over the years. They've offered me $384, I just want my money back and end this. They want to come out next week to install it but I don't know how much it will actually cost to find another contractor to finish out the work inside the trailer. You're help is very appreciated. I'm normally home during the day and accessible by phone. Thank you. Mrs. *******************

      Portland Glass has settled this dispute like a professional and courteous business. Not only did we discount the total bill by 40% but we also preform extra services for ***************** that we specifically mentioned in the invoice would be an extra charge, for free. The customer paid her remaining balance in full and was happy with the work we preformed, even after the date this complaint was file. Customer will not be receiving a refund from Portland Glass as she agreed to pay for the remaining balance and was content with the job when completed.

      I had a crack in my windshield and filed a claim with my insurance carrier to have the windshield replaced with Portland Glass located in Berlin, ** and when I picked up the vehicle after the installment, there were scratches all around the windshield on the vehicle, chip in my roof rack, 3 dents on the top of my roof above the windshield, the panels on the inside for the air bags around the windshield had deep scratches and the sealant on the outside wasn't sealed properly as water was leaking into my car. There was also broken glass all over the inside of my vehicle that I could easily cut myself or a passenger if I had one with me. There was also oil stains near the sun visors on both the driver and passenger side. I brought the vehicle back to Portland Glass as they said they would replace the internal panels which they did and and cleaned the oils stains. They have now sent me to the local collision center at ******************** which is where my car is still at being repaired for all the other damage that occurred. Portland Glass attempted to refund me the $100 for the windshield and I had to wait over a month and it never came into my account, so I had to call and ask multiple times for it. I ended up calling headquarters in ***** to Portland Glass, they called the ******, ** location and I finally got my money back. The individual from ****'s informed me that Portland had to come take the glass out so they could work on the scratches on the outside of the windshield and they broke the windshield and added more scratches to my vehicle which ****'s said they'd repair.
