  This complaint is regarding the abusive conduct of one of the people who came to our home for the floor sanding project we were doing. We were leaving the house for a week, and arranged to have Jimmy Express start the job on Sunday, July 10. Four people arrived to start the job. One man said we could pay right up front before we left or pay after we returned and had inspected the job. I offered to pay half and pay the remainder upon our return and he said they preferred to get all of the money at once. Shortly after that conversation another man, who seemed irritated, starting saying something about payment. It was clear that he wanted the payment. I wrote out a check to the business name, Jimmy Express, and he then brought his phone over to me with his name spelled out, saying I should write the check out to his name. I went to write another check, and then turned and asked, "Why am I not making the check out to the business name?" He rushed several feet across the floor, snatched the check from my hand forcefully, crumpled it all up into the size of a bubble gum wrapper, and threw it onto our kitchen counter, then he marched back into the other room. He mumbled something about me not being willing to write his name. He was clearly furious and determined to let me know he was furious. When people behave that way it is so unexpected and shocking - if I'd had my wits about me I would have told them all to leave immediately - but I just looked at him and said "What about the check?" He then rushed back over to the counter, retrieved the crumpled check, and shoved it in his pocket. It was a shocking experience to be a customer, willing to pay for a service, and treated with contempt and abuse by a man who appeared to be a primary member of the business. Wow. No one deserves to be treated this way under any circumstances. I would urge people seeking floor sanding and refinishing services to look elsewhere.
