I was issued a parking citation by Parking Collect on September 13, 2024 at 7:50pm. Lot located at **********************************************************. Vehicle plate RNH1931. Parking Collect and the lot owner (***********************) are engaged in deceptive practices. I filed a dispute on Feb 25, 2025 contesting that there was no signage indicating this had become a "paid lot". It has NOT been a paid lot for over 10 years.Parking Collect responded 3/2/2025 with an image of one small sign, approximately 4' in height. They declined my appeal. I visited the site and noted the sign is NOT visible to drivers entering the lot. 1) The sign is not facing the driver, rather it is turned sideways to the entry. When approaching the lot from the West a driver sees the BACKSIDE of the sign. 2) Further the sign does not conform to signage standards at approximately 4' of height, far too low to be visible by a driver. In summary, the signage does not provide reasonable and adequate notice of payment required. I appealed to Parking Collect on 3/4/2025 and 3/16/2025 with the above information. They did not reply to either appeal. I paid the fine of $50 on 3/21/2025 to avoid a credit issue. Requesting a full refund and apology from Parking Collect and ****** Properties.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/03/2025

Parking Collect operates as a registered payment agent for the parking lot owner. We provide the following response based on our records and the information provided:
      • Signage: The parking lot is clearly marked with four distinct sign posts, each displaying multiple signs. This configuration is designed to ensure maximum visibility from all entry points.
      • Dispute Evidence: The initial "evidence" submitted by the complainant in their dispute was an outdated screenshot from ****** Maps, not an actual photo from the parking lot.
      • Enforcement: The lot is explicitly designated as a paid parking area, and signage also indicates tow-away enforcement. Citations are issued as an alternative to towing for unauthorized parking.
      • Communication: Contrary to the complainant's assertion of multiple contacts, our records reflect only a single communication from them.

We have reached back out to the complainant directly to help resolve their concerns.

On June 22, 2024, my wife and I parked in the lot next to the **************** to have dinner, the owner of the parking lot recently started charging for parking, **************** picks up the tab for parking. We parked, walked in, sat down, the waitress brought us the scan sheet and we completed the form and received a receipt for parking. When we left there was a violation notice on my car. We received an invoice for this unpaid parking violation of $50., I forwarded my receipt to them, they responded that we arrived at 7:16 pm and the receipt states 7:28 pm which is beyond there grace ****** so we still owe the fee and threatened that my vehicle would be flagged and immediately towed if I parked anywhere in their nationwide system. I asked what their grace ****** was and received no response. I believe that their employee was sitting in the parking lot and gave me the citation immediately, I do not believe that I need to pay this citation which includes 20. for their full day rate and 30. administration fee.

This is a message regarding citation #******. We have escalated your case and determined that the citation was issued erroneously during the "grace ******* before you were required to complete validation at the local restaurant. As a result, the citation has been voided. If you happen to receive any additional notices by mail due to processing delays, please disregard them.

Our mission is to provide private property owners who want to make their parking accessible to the public with a convenient alternative to towing unauthorized vehicles. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and any inconvenience our error may have caused in this case.
