      Barnes provided us a preliminary estimate for replacing our window shades based on measurements we had taken. After a representative from Barnes came out to confirm the measurements and have us choose the fabric, they came back with a quote that was $883.67 higher than the initial estimate. Barnes confirmed our measurements were accurate but the increase was due to the chosen fabric. The initial estimate did not stipulate any assumptions regarding the chosen fabric nor any other stipulations other than the measurements; therefore as a potential customer, I had no reason to believe that the formal quote would be significantly higher unless the measurements we provided were off - which was ultimately determined not to be the case. I attempted to resolve this with Barnes but they have not responded to my emails despite providing timely responses to emails prior to my disputing the quote. I even offered a compromise where I would agree to 50% of the increase but again, they never responded. Barnes was and is unwilling to take responsibility for their misleading and deceptive initial estimate and would caution any potential customer to ensure quotes include any and all assumptions that the estimate is based on.

      **** and Barnes did a terrific job helping us choose from samples and then installed pleated shades on six windows in our addition. **** was respectful, prompt, and transparent regarding types and prices. He cleaned up afterwards. Perhaps most importantly he returned to ensure everything was fine and slightly moved hardware to allow space for our new interior storms. He even fixed two shares that we had gotten from a big box store. A delight to work with and a rel professional.
