    **** ******** was contracted to install a gutter at my home. The work was done on 7/15 & 7/19/24. Upon arrival, **** recommended my roof to be replaced and quoted me $3500 for a metal roof and gutter. **** did not complete either project in full despite multiple follow-ups and paying him in full. Neither the gutter nor the metal roof were installed properly. The gutter was not capturing the water coming off the roof, he did not complete the down spout, and he did not remove the excess materials. Despite multiple text messages to follow-up with **** and him saying he would be back, he never came back as he promised time after time. Therefore, I contacted NorthEast Roofing of ******, ME to come out and look at my gutter for possible replacement. Upon arrival, NorthEast Roofing stated the gutter was not installed properly (leaking), and while up there they noticed the metal roof was improperly installed as well. There were s**** holes not sealed with caulking and underlapped when he should have overlapped which if not repaired properly could lead to water getting into the house. Additionally; around the vent pipe, there was a significant hole that he should have put a rubber boot over. NorthEast replaced the gutter for $1700 and fixed the roof for $1000. NorthEast took pictures of the imperfections in the quality of the workmanship of which I sent to **** via text on 10/7 along with a request for a refund of $2000. **** has not provided any refund. I am seeking a refund of $2000 and I would like BBB to check his credentials so that he is not able to continue providing sub-par workmanship to other unwitting customers.

    **** ******** (Top to Bottom Contracting **********, **) installed gutters to the front of my condo on 7/9/24. He provided a quote for $1375- I asked for a breakdown between labor and materials- said he would do it, but he was on his way over with the materials and I never got the breakdown. I feel like not providing me with a breakdown was his way of burying his overcharges. He came back to my home 7/15 to finish the job and to collect the balance of his payment. He claimed the down spouts were not in stock, but he'd be back at some point to install them. On 8/30/24, I sent him a video (via text msg) of the performance of the gutters. The gutters are not functioning properly at all- water dripping from the roofline behind the gutters. No response to my text. I sent a second text on 9/5 and a third follow-up text on 9/11. He responded on 9/11 saying he'd take a look next week. The week of 9/16 came and went as well as the weeks of 9/23 and 9/30- no response from him. Meanwhile, I had another company ***************** of ****** (BBB accredited) over to assess the gutters- they indicated the gutters were not installed properly. Additionally, I inquired as to the price if I had contacted them to do the original job- response was $600 which is less than half of what **** charged me. I feel overcharged with shotty work with gutters that don't function properly. On 10/7, I texted **** a request for partial refund ($600) so that I can have the gutters re-installed properly and because he overcharged me in the first place. And he wasted my time with his lack of follow-up and never returned to fix the gutters. My 10/7 text included photos of the leaf guards that were mis-aligned and ready to blow off. My hope is for a $600 refund and for BBB to check his licensing/insurance and take action accordingly so that **** does not continue ripping customers off and leaving people with sub-par work that needs to be re-done and/or replaced.
