Pros: Pet friendly. Great location close to the Old Port, walkable to so many things. Beautiful interior, newly upgraded with thoughtful design and layout. Air conditioning and heating work great and are very quiet. Landlord is generally pleasant, and very responsive to service repairs, phone calls, or questions. Good landscaping. Cons: For a very high monthly rent (ours was $2772/mo in 2023 for a 1 bedroom 1.5 bath 900sqft), you don't get much vs other apartments in ********. There's no off-street parking or in-building laundry. Even though the units have laundry hookups, you have to leave the building, go next door, and pay $11/load in a laundromat...that the landlord also owns and profits from. It's the noisiest apartment I've ever lived at: you can hear everyone above you, and the building is on the corner of 2 busy roads. You can hear every vehicle, garbage truck, homeless person rummaging through your trash, etc. The landlord forced all tenants to move out of the building for 1 week to upgrade the electric meters. He paid for hotel rooms without kitchens. When we asked for rooms with kitchens, he only partially reimbursed us, causing out of pocket costs for either getting a kitchen or eating out. Overall incredibly inconvenient. The landlord is constantly trying complicated pricing/fee tactics that you have to watch out for. For example, when we ended the lease, he tried to sneak a $400 fee into the paperwork for "posting the apartment online". When asked, he admits he's trying to maximize the price of the place for the sake of the next renter. Living here makes you feel like you are just a part of the landlord's grand plans to dramatically grow his family's wealth. He even has "BUY APTS" on his license plate! Be sure to thoroughly research RP Management (Rutherford Partners) and it's reviews. Look at all ******** apartments before picking a place: prices vary wildly, and landlords try to squeeze the most money out of each unit because of demand.
