    I am filing this complaint on behalf of my 97-year-old *************************** *****. I am her POA. In early March my mother moved into a nursing home - Seaside ************************************************* - and lost her dentures within the first week. We contacted Denture Crafters to have a new set made. MaineCare gave authorization to Denture Crafters and we began the process on March 28, 2023. The process involved multiple appointments with the final appointment scheduled for July 24, 2023. I had been communicating with the office about the need to have her dentures completed in time for her final trip to visit her family in ****** on August 1st, 2023. When we showed up for her appointment we were told that the dentures were not done and that they would not be completed in time for her trip! This caused an argument involving *************, his office manager, my mother, myself, and a staff member from Seaside. We left the office frustrated and still do not have her dentures 4 months later! Their office refuses to take or return my calls and we cannot go to another denturist until they release her MaineCare approval. This is unacceptable and needs to be corrected asap! Meanwhile my 97 year old mother has no teeth, cannot eat most foods, and her self esteem is deteriorating. It is detrimental for a 97 year old to lose weight and any loss of health, mental or physical, is dangerous. We simply want this business to release the approval so we can move on. The dentures have not been paid for and will not be paid for until she has them in her mouth.

    Ok so what patients daughter neglected to tell you is the multiple missed appointments. I dont know whos fault it is ******* ** patients daughter but appointments were missed. If patient made it to appointments as scheduled dentures would have been finished in time. This was the reason for the argument in my office with patients daughter. We have since called Seaside multiple times to schedule  patient with no response. When I get into the office Monday we will contact mainecare so patient can go to another office.
