    My wife works as a medical transport professional. In the execution of her duties. She encountered a patient of ALLENDALE ************************************************ Upon, return to the facility the patient she transported was in the company wheelchair. The nurses had a situation where they couldn't remove the patient from the wheelchair at that time. So, having the needs of her next client at the forefront of her mind she left the wheelchair at the facility after alerting the nursing staff that she would return later to retrieve said wheelchair. After alerting staff that she would be in on 1/25/23 to pick up the wheelchair. When she arrived to pick up the wheelchair she was informed by a Nurse to follow her because the patient was moved to another room. After being told by the nurse which room it was the nurse walked away leaving her to retrieve the wheelchair on her own. While leaving the patient's room she encountered a 2nd nurse whom out of concern for patient she asked her how the patient was doing because said patient was in tears and moaning about being in pain. At which time she was informed that the patient had COVID-19. & had been exposed by her husband. The nurse then asked if she had been warned of the patient circumstances when my wife replied that she had NOT the nurse then began to shake her head as if in disgust at the thought of her colleagues allowing her access without disclosing this information. In a panic my wife then requested that the chair be cleaned and it was. She also requested a Covid test which was administered by a nurse. During this time my wife expressed her concerns over not being told of the situation. Not having the info to make a conscious decision as to whether or not enter the room. She also explained that her spouse has a COPD Diagnosis. Which fell on deaf ears. As, NO efforts were made other than those listed in regards to possible transmission to her husband. When asking if her husband should get tested she was told that they could not give medical advice on the subject. And, if deemed necessary to seek the advice of a physician. I can not make sense of such carelessness. Nor should I be expected to. I'm hoping that if only on the most miniscule level that steps will be taken to prevent this from occuring in the future.
