I am filing a Better Business Bureau complaint against Suzanne R. Fanning ******* November of 2024, I entered into a retainer agreement with Suzanne Fanning PLLC to represent me in the probate process for my deceased father's estate. Throughout this process the primary contact from the law office was Attorney Fanning's senior paralegal ******** ***. Communication with Ms. *** seemingly stopped all of the sudden after March 4th, 2025, which was the last time she forwarded me a document. This last contact came a few weeks before an important "Estate Inventory" document had to be signed by Attorney Fanning and submitted to the Lenawee County Probate Court. Upon completion of the estate inventory, I mailed it via **** Priority Mail, along with the 2024 Summer and Winter property tax statements for my father's property to Attorney Fanning's office in ************. On Thursday, March 13th, I emailed one of the law office's legal interns *******. The premise of this email was to inform ******* that these important documents were on their way, and that I wanted her to forward it to Attorney Fanning, to be addressed as soon as possible. The documents arrived at the office on March 13th. ******* responded to my email on March 17th, acknowledging the documents arrival, and that she had forwarded them to Ms. *** for processing. At this point it was my belief that the inventory document and tax statements were sent to the probate court. That was until I received a "Notice of Deficiency" from the Lenawee County Probate Court. This notice was filed on March, 25, 2025 and sent both to myself, as well as Attorney Fannings office. I received my copy on March 28th, and immediately emailed Ms. **** regarding the issue on the same day. I expected that she would respond sometime within the day, but she did not. I again attempted to reach Ms. *** via email on April 2nd and April 8th, to no avail. On April 17th I was informed by Ms. *** that Attorney Fanning was withdrawing as my attorney.
