    Purchased a sage fishing rod online from their online store sept 9th. I received the fishing rod 9-13-24. On the same day I received the rod I discovered in had a broken guide. I took it back to the store the same day I received it and they refused to give me a replacement on a rod never used. They say I need to send it to the manufacture. My contention is they never inspected the guides and shipped me a rod which is unusable and unused. Now should I have used the rod for any amount I would understand there policy. But the rod was completely new, unused and the problem was discovered with 60 minutes of having it in my possession. The return was attempted the same day it was received. They did not do due diligence to inspect the guides before they shipped it.

               Good afternoon, the person did purchase the rod from us. That being said he brought it into the shop and the rod was dripping wet and the handle was soaking wet leaving small water puddles on the counter. Even though he claimed he did not fish with it, there was obvious signs that he had. When we tried to talk to him about the fly rod, he became verbally aggressive and proceeded to curse a lot.  We have sold fishing equipment for many years as well as using the equipment ourselves and know what used equipment looks like. We tried to explain how the warranty works but he didn't want to hear it and was very rude. We stated that we were very sorry he felt that way and tried our best to resolve the situation. He then stated it was his life mission from here on out to report us and bury our business. later that evening he began to send multiple emails threatening us then later reporting us to your business. 28 years we have taken great pride in our customer service. we are incredibly saddened we could not successfully help this gentleman out with his complaints.
